My go to diet is HCG. I'm doing another round in a few days. I want a calorie deficit before summer starts so I have some extra room for long island iced teas and iced coffee with lots of cream!

Total weight loss to date:

55 lbs.

The trip to Pittsburgh didn't help me much, but I can still lose weight in a hurry when I have to.  :whistling:

:yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: You have done incredibly well!!!! How's Mrs. E doin'?

Went today, to weigh in for the first time in quite a while...and was pleasantly surprised. Was only up 1 pound, but considering how much dessert making I've been doing lately, which means a lot....okay...a whole lot!  :thatsright: .... of taste testing.

Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands.

isn't that where they inject the pregnancy hormone into you?

You can inject it, I do it sublingually. The amount you get is much, much smaller than a pregnant woman produces. A pregnant woman can produce up to a million units per day and the dose of HCG for dieting is between 125 & 250iu. It's basically a very low calorie diet but the HCG keeps you from being hungry and going into starvation mode because of the way it burns fat and the kind of fat it burns. It only burns superfluous fat and preserves those natural reserves (the kind that protects the joints, liver, etc.) we need. This makes sense if you think about it because this hormone does the same thing for pregnant women even with such stress on their bodies. While you do hit a plateau for a few days (I've yet to be on a diet where weight loss doesn't slow at some point) most people usually lose a pound or more a day.

Most people do HCG without a doctor. It's extremely safe and costs about $60 for a 3 month supply. You have to order it from overseas but it's legal to have a 3 month supply. If bought here you can only get it from a doctor or buy the homeopathic version. It's done in rounds of 23 to 43 days but I never need that much time so I'm kind of a rogue diet in that I cycle it 2 weeks on and 1 week off. I also eat extra protein since I workout. After you do a round there's a three week maintenance period which is basically a low carb diet. This is the phase in which bacon becomes a food group! The biggest mistake people make at this step is not eating enough calories. The absolutely amazing thing about HCG though is how it literally reshapes your body. Do a google search and you'll see.

One of the girls who works with my son, just told me the other day, that this is how she diets!!!

I had never heard of it, until you mentioned it the other day. She's only about 19, but said she just did it for a  month and lost 18 pounds!! She said she has not gone back on it, but didn't say why. But she did say that she's only gained back 1 pound, in a couple of months.

She is closing in on 30 lbs. and is at a very loose size 10, I think. I've got my svelte babe back!  :yahoo:

She's far better at sticking to the diet than I am, but I do much, much more exercise than she does. All the same, we've both begun incorporating some weight training into the exercise plan. We've been doing exclusively cardio, which is great, but as we all know, lean muscle tissue burns calories all the time. That's the single-biggest reason men lose weight faster than women -- we tend to have more muscle mass.
