You heard wrong.  Many SSI recipients get an infinite amount out than they put in.

Teh DUmmies don't know that SSI comes out of the general budget funds, not SS "contributions". You don't have to contribute anything to collect SSI if you can demonstrate you've been brain damaged by illegal drugs even if you're 12 years old!

When SS was implemented the life expectancy was much lower than it is today. My Aunt had a massive stroke when she was in her early 40's, she went on SSDI, she lived another 30 years, she received 30 years of benefits and only paid what totaled 3 months of money into the system.
