Are you too proud to admit that some Republican hard-liners may unreasonable and more "insane" than these moderate leftists?

1) If I see a leftist present a valid or "fair" point - I will acknowledge it.

2) Some right wing view points are equally as insane as some leftist view points (See : Ron Paul vs Dennis Kucinich )

3)  Usually when you see something on DU - you post a link to it such that we can share in the entertainment.

I can name 2 Democrats who have some fair points and are not irrationally insane, Zell Miller, and Joe Liberman when it comes to defense and foreign policy. Oddly enough both of those Democrats are hated at DU.

There are no moderate leftists you either have a socialistic vision for America or you don't.

Lastly enjoy your stay at CC the mods have been alerted. Oh wait this isn't DU.  :lmao:

A lot of democrats in this area have sane rational points.  However, a lot of them vote republican because they refuse to support the shit that the leaders of the DNC promote.  There are always crazy people on both sides.  However, on the right they try to get help for their issues while on the left they embrace and brag about their insanity.

I don't look at points as "Democrat" or "Republican" because those parties are nothing but that, parties. Look up "Classical Liberalism" and that "almost" describes me to a T. Just seems that these days the Republicans are the party that follows, or at least lays on the charade of following, those traits. The reason I consider myself a conservative is because I'd like to conserve those classical liberal traits that this nation was built upon and too many times Democrats and "progressives" erroneously think being liberal means you have to change everything, all the f'n time.

I'll give credit to my (obscure) D congressman, Bill Owens, for doing some leadership in removing the odious clause in Obamacare about the 1099 for all.  

I'll give credit to Andrew Cuomo, my D governor, for not being a complete moonbat, and recognizing that being the tax capital of the country is a losing proposition for the state's future, and people are running for the hills (in other words, Florida.  I'm making plans myself).

That's two examples, but what you're probably looking for are instances of D's acting like D's, not R's, correct?  

I'm drawing a blank.  All the D's ideas and plans come with unintended consequences which they never think through.  They never account for the fact that you tax behavior you want to discourage, and not tax behavior you want to encourage, like economic prosperity.

Since they ran out the blue dogs, I have absolutely nothing in common with the Dims, and didn't really with the blues maybe with the exception of some social stances. Liberal Democrats don't exist anymore. They're now "progressives", MOST dabbling in Socialism in some form or fashion.

Can you give me some examples of something that Pelosi, Reid, Obama et. al. have done that isn't irrationally insane?

Obama made the right decision to go after Bin Laden.

$4 gas, 9 percent unemployment, several trillion dollar deficits, more spending, the Obamacare bill...These aren't crazy to you?

I have no problem if a Democrat leans Conservative on some issues and I agree with them on some issues.

As for those on my own side? sure there are a small minority whom I disagree with.

There are a lot of points in mainstream Democrat ideology I can at least see where they're legitimately coming from, if not necessarily agree it's the best way to approach the problem.

At the same time, there are a lot of people who get lumped in with the Right by the MSM who I think are basically proceeding on either loopy ideas or have taken a sound premise and extended it far, far past its breaking point, particularly some of the Libertarians.

Thing is, our system boils down to two coalitions, and the only approach that will get any of what you want either done or preserved has become a scorched-earth, Back to the Vaterland warfare, because each coalition has to keep its base on board while trying to moderate itself for the sake of gaining the Centrists.  Err too far to the center, and the base flakes off by either staying home or playing futile third-party games, which is a true 'Spanish prisoner' dilemna because they essentially ensure the worst outcome for both the third and the coalition from which it defected.  Err too far to your base, and you go down in ideologically pure defeat because the Center walks to the other side.

Your OP is invalid for one striking reason - Liberals Lie.

Democrat incumbents in CT ran as fiscal conservatives for the 2010 election, they were reelected almost as one and  immediately resumed governing like flaming communists implementing among other things:

1. Largest tax hike in CT's long history on tax hikes
2. Passing an unconstitutional state budget with over $3 BILLION in deficit
3. While $3 Billion in the hole voted to borrow $100 million to turn abandoned rail track into a paved "bus-way" for commuter buses to run between Hartford and New Haven (ridership on this bus way will be in the low dozens of daily riders)
4.While $3 Billion in the hole voted to borrow untold amounts  of money (easily >$300 million) to create a high speed rail between Springfield MA and New Haven CT.
5. Voted against every single Republican amendment to the budget while hailing the "bi-partisan" nature of the Bill.
6. Are currently sending out lay-off notices to 4,700 state employees to close the $3 Billion hole (although after administrative action, law suits, settlements, and payoffs total savings will be less then $100 Million - that assumes anyone is actually laid off)

I haven't seen any Democrats in our area that are leftist loons...but that may be because I don't live in Wichita, Topeka, or near KC, Kansas.  However, while our Republicans are occasionally wrong on a few issues here or there, our Democrats are still wrong on every issue, or nearly every issue. (I did see one claiming to be pro-life...)  There is nothing "prideful" about this issue, everyone must vote for their strongest values, and the Democratic "value" of keeping so many poor on the government plantation is a disgusting one.
