I was the beneficiary of a random act of kindness this morning...    Advertisements [?]"No act of kindness, however small, is ever wasted."

"Do your little bit of good where you are; it's those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world."
~ Author:Archbishop Desmond Tutu ~

It's just such a small thing but it gave me a smile early this morning.

I went out just as the sun was coming up to drive to the little convenience store down the street to buy one or two items. The small store was purchased about a year ago by a family from India. They are very friendly now but not at first and they speak English but it wasn't so good when they first came here and over the last year I've gotten more friendly with them and they with me and not long ago, one of the daughters started there and she was having trouble counting the change back and so, I showed her how to do it and she was so sweet and the next time I went there, she proudly counted back the change. Now the owner or an uncle, not sure of his relationship, has been taking the morning shift and I was there the day he was starting and he was also having trouble understanding what I was asking for from behind the counter and he was confused on how to work the Western Union 'machine' (for lack of a better word) but since then he has figured it out and lately he has been calling me "sister". Now, I didn't and still don't understand the signifigance of that term by him but he loves to say that and is always so happy to see me and always greets me and has what I want ready for me before I even get in the door, which is kind of special, imho! So, anyway, I got there this morning and I asked for what I wanted to purchase and before he rung it up, I was counting out my dollar bills and realized I didn't have the $5.00 bill I thought I had and I apologized and said I'd be back in a minute so I could go back home and grab a $5 bill and he said, "No! No! You take it and don't you worry. You just bring me the money when you can." I said, "No, that's OK. It will only take me a minute to run home." And then he said, "You are my sister, remember I said that to you? You are my sister now. You bring the money whenever. Is not a problem because you are my sister!" And then he smiled and took my $4.00 (The total was $5.98) and told me to have a great day! I just thought that was pretty damn nice of him to trust me like that, as we barely know each other except from my going to that store to get milk or whatever.

So, that's my little story. Now I guess it's my turn to pay it forward.  (and bring him the $1.95!)

So the windy primitive's going to stiff the kind man, bringing him only $1.95 instead of $1.98 still owed him?

In the retail business, the small cents add up.

Frank, one must remember that in this story ..... Breeze was the one teaching them how to count change!!!  LOL  OMG it doesn't get any better than that!

Funny thing is the thread over there kind of degrades into a race bashing kind of thing.  Interesting how they at the DUmp can change the topic to race so easily.

Oh my.

You're right, sir; I dragged out the boat and rowed over to Skins's island to see this bonfire.

It must be the Obamanation effect; the primitives ranted about race.

Oh Ms. Breeze54 we have not sen you in here since we last doubled the prices. [/quickiemart]
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

30. I had to read it twice to make sure. I figured you were deducting the 3 cents for gas.

Their grasp of grammar is about as good as their grasp of elementary school math. I think there were only three sentences in that entire post.  :thatsright:

In a few short weeks Breeze will be telling us that the poor Indian's business went belly up. She will be blaming it on the awful Bush economy and evil repukes that squeezed this nice man out of business when in reality it was because some DUmmie imbecile who can't count change herself taught him how to count change for his customers.  Talk about the blind leading the blind.   :whatever:
