Creepy or Artistic Genius
« on: April 25, 2011, 03:55:50 PM »
There has been controversy about these photos, which portray children re-enacting recent world tragedies and events.

What do you think: genius art, tasteless exploitation or something in between?

Interesting photos that are staged and from what I have seen may catch the eye of someone that can relate to a photo.

I however cannot relate to any of the photos, staged scenes, unless portrates just don't turn me on.

Color is garish, the children are just stage props, there is no connection to real life children--------------

How much money did we tax payers pay to the Arts Endowment to pay the photographer for this interesting collection ???????????

I think that the gist of the statement is that we taxpayers in the USA didn't pay for any of this thru our Endowment of the Arts.  Which would more than likely be a fair statement.  This time.

Creepy.

Some of the stuff may be over the kids' heads, but the Idol one and the Twins one wouldn't be. The Twins one is really twisted and the Idol one, while it's possible that it's over the kid's comprehension, I would hate to learn that it could be a glimpse into that child's future by power of suggestion.

I find it very disturbing that a parent would allow their child to be in photos such as this. Mine would never have been....

macabre exploitation of children.....

This was my thought.
"Liberalism is an essentially feminine, submissive world view. Perhaps a better adjective than feminine is infantile. It is the world view of men who do not have the moral toughness, the spiritual strength to stand up and do single combat with life, who cannot adjust to the reality that the world is not a huge, pink-and-blue, padded nursery in which the lions lie down with the lambs and everyone lives happily ever after."
