The primitives in the poverty forum on Skins's island aren't too happy, being put in with the 9/11 forum.

This seems a natural campfire for the bobbling primitive, but no 1986 Buick's pulled up to it.

Ever notice that even on this forum...we are hidden away like the conspiracy group?

We have men/women and children literally starving unable to afford shelter, healthcare, or any dignity...yet we are seconded next to 9/11 truthers

Perhaps poverty is just not popular enough?

Bringing awareness to those on this board should be easy enough, yet we languish.

How are people who focus on putting a meal together once a day for their children supposed to join the popular voice, when those self proclaimed populists don't give a damned about those who truly struggle day to day?

Nor are they poor. They simply belong to a demographic that is traditionally supported by the democratic party. Teachers (and many other public workers), for example, earn on average more that 90% to 95% of the public at large and have benefits that most americans can only dream of. They vote and give money to democrats because that's the party that supports them, andin the process they adopt or defend other democrat party positions -- in the same way that a businessman getting tax breaks from the GOP might also support GOP adventures overseas.

Certainly it was not the poor who cannot possibly afford health insuarnace or care of any kind who thought Obamacare was a good deal. Obama sticking a gun in their face and ordering them to buy health insurance at jacked up rates does not solve THEIR health care issues, but for the guy with healthcare now it sounds just ****ing fine.

14th Annual Homeless Marathon - February 23, 2011  
There are actually two homeless marathons, one in Canada and one in the US, but they happen at the same time.
This is the 14th annual US marathon, and the 9th annual Canadian marathon.

I thought, man, I hope someone gets that on YouTube! A bunch of hobo racers! Running into telephone poles! Stopping to piss in someone's doorway! Pushing stolen WalMart carts! It could be better than bum fights.
But, alas, disappointment. They were talking about a stupid radio show to raise money for muscatel or something.
