Wow! Great story while having my 1st cup of coffee.
Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.

I can't fathom doing that, just beyond me.  Hope things get better for that little one.

Ya know, dumping the baby in the trash is totally uncalled for and psychotic because there are laws that allow a mother or father to drop a baby off at any hospital, no questions asked. The Lord was certainly looking out for this little one.

Yep, that's what I thought too. That baby would not have lasted long without care.

Holy shit! :o  Here I thought it was awful that our last kitten came to us via a dumpster, for real.  A friend of my daughter's was throwing out her garbage at the apartment dumpster and heard a mewing sound.  She climbed down and got scratched for her pains, but she saved a baby's life.

If I ever found the person who discarded a five week old kitten, I'd want to inflict serious damage.  Can't imagine what penalty the mother deserves, although if she was young I guess that's some mitigation.  Maybe.  It occurs to me that just because there are fire departments and hospitals that accept newborns doesn't mean the mother KNOWS they exist or has any means of getting there.  I guess that could be something for the high schools, hell, the junior highs, to post on their walls, info on baby drop off locations and what to do if you're pregnant and desperate.  Heaven knows they're quick enough with the sex education (which apparently doesn't work 100%) and handing out condoms. :whatever:
