Darn but was it not in the early 90's that all the kids got into branding for some fad??? They had their tongue pierced, eyebrows ringed, nose pierced, some sort of stainless ball barrings in planted under their skin. They when they could not afford or were too young to get a tattoo chose other ways to express themselves.
This kind of reminds me of the fashion and law at the time in the 1600's of branding people on the forehead with a mark to let others know they were guilty of adultery, theft or murder.
Charlie Manson still has that swastika on his forehead after 40+ years.
This all sounds so strange to me who has seen cattle and horses branded, the iron has to be super hot, not something one would walk down the street looking for a victim. Every seconds counts as the iron will loose heat for every second it is out of the fire.
