Stupidity abounds.

@mojo_mama: I suspect the Mexicans did (and in some cases still do) have the same feelings about the Anglos that came to settle in "their" territory - territory we call "Texas".
@engineerChris: unless your ancestors were living in this land when the Pilgrims arrived, I'm not certain how your claim on the land is any more valid than any other descendant of immigrants.
@IraaHayes: Where is YOUR post condemning the hateful, provocative burning of the sacred text of a religious belief by the representative of another religious belief? Or do you believe that "inciting a riot" should not be a crime?

Some of the nicest folk I have met have been Muslim. They tend to be a lot more educated than the typical Texan as well.
But hysteria is what the right wing thrives on and will keep perpetuating hate towards Muslims, gays, Democrats and teachers so as their believers will not see their true agenda of selling our nation out to the ultra-wealthy.

Many leftists are elitists.

So, mojo_momma, how -- exactly -- were you and your family members "pressured"? If your story is true, then did you report these people to law enforcement? Any Muslim (or any other person for that matter) who threatens you should be arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law!
In fact, if I had been in your shoes, I would have taken my story to the news media, which would obviously be very eager to report an extremely controversial news story like this -- a story that would certainly generate high ratings. After all, widespread news media coverage of your predicament would have brought public pressure to bear on law enforcement and the DA to see that those allegedly threatening you and your neighbors were brought to justice. So if you did contact the media, let us know the links to the online news reports about this situation so we can verify this very serious allegation you are making. Can you provide us any links to reports on foxnews.com? How about the Web site of a local AM radio station that covered your story? Surely if any news media outlets would cover negative stories about Muslims, it would be at least these types of outlets.
But if you can't prove your very serious allegation with verifiable evidence, then I'm afraid I can't take your argument seriously: I, at least, would have to consider your post to be nothing more than an allegation.
On the other hand, if you're telling us the truth, then by all means you have my sympathies -- I sincerely mean that.
However, even if Muslims did indeed threaten you, how would that in any way imply that Muslims as a whole -- repeat, as a whole -- threaten Americans? Certainly some Muslims do threaten Americans! We should never forget that a handful of extremist Muslims killed over 3,000 Americans (including some Muslim Americans) on 9/11! Many Muslims today are killing Americans (including some Muslim Americans) in Iraq and Afghanistan. And al-Qaeda continues to literally threaten us: We need to be vigilant and to fight the true terrorists!
But extremist Christians have killed Americans as well: Anyone who believes that Islam has a corner on terrorism need look no further than Scott Roeder (who killed Kansas abortion doctor George Tiller on May 31, 2009) -- a clear-cut example of a fundamentalist Christian terrorist! Yet no one should infer from this terrible tragedy (or from other acts of Christian terrorism) that Christians as a whole threaten Americans!

Christians don't cheer for terrorists, moron!

if any of the commenters on this blog had taken the time to get to know even one muslim family, they wouldn't be so quick to insult and fear muslims - they might even welcome them.
just as if any muslim were to take an objective look at his/her religion, read the qu'ran and hadiths, and study the history of mohammed, they might reconsider their faith - they might even investigate other options (were it not for the death sentence upon all apostates).
one-third of my friends are muslims, and i love each and every one of them. zero-thirds of my friends understand islam.
i apologize on behalf of the "christians" in america who exhibit such hateful intolerance. i understand how a muslim might form a negative opinion of christians based upon the behavior of these few public figures. i hope you also understand how many americans have formed opinions of muslims based on news of the murder UN workers in afghanistan this week.
