Did anyone watch the presidents weekly comedy show last night?
Was it funny? Or dull like the usual?
I watched it. I don't like Obama, or the fact that he is the CinC, but, well, he is.
I've been vocal that I think Libya, at best, involves two sides that are each roughly equal in terms of what they would do to the other side or plot against us when we were not looking in other words neither side is worth a drop of American blood or a penny of our treasure. However, I was willing to listen to Obama's reasoning.
President Obama clearly does not understand the implications of his own extremely interventionist foreign policy. It condenses as follows, "If anyone, anywhere, is being set upon by a government that we label repressive, and it upsets the bleeding heart idiots in Europe, and the UN passes a statment saying
someone (invariably meaning US) should really do something about it, we will spend American money and American lives to enforce the will of bunch of momma's boys (Europe) as announced by an organization of petty tyrants, dictators, and assorted bootlickers (United Nations)."
Nevermind the impossiblity of actually carrying this policy through, we would need more troops than even the Soviet Union ever fielded and that success would still be an unsure thing, it would still be a damned interesting 150 years or so. American foreign policy is now totally at the whim of people that are not Americans.
