Like every state, NY, CA, MA, even little ol Kansas. There are islands of opposition.  Lawrence is where Kansas University is.  That is all that is needed to say.  Go 2 miles outside of the city limits, and it is back the way Kansas should be.  The other college town, Manhattan, where K State is, also is home of the Big Red 1.  Ft. Riley.  Manhattan is lights and days different from Lawrence.

I am surprised that Miss Madow was able to stand the trip from MCI to Lawrence.  Must have made her skin crawl to see all those signs on the side of the road against abortion, and Rush billboards.  No wonder she was in a bar.

You see, I don't care you how feel.  I really don't.  More importantly, neither does anyone else.  Only about 200 people on a planet of 7 billion actually care about your feelings, and that's if you're lucky.  The sooner you grasp this lesson, the better off you will be.  And since almost no one gives a damn what you do, say, think, or feel, appealing to your feelings when you encounter differences of opinion is not only illogical, but useless.

Drunk as a skunk and still couldn't get hit on....by male or female.

“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin

Madcow better make sure she stays in Bars located around campus or she just might find herself in a stockyard, headin' up the ramp to become a side of beef! Most Kansaskans, and I know because I was born there, are as conservative as the day is long!

They usually stick to their liberal enclaves.  Can't be mixing with the commoners in flyover country, ya' know.
