Qaddafi : open fire
« on: February 21, 2011, 09:39:57 AM »
he's not going quietly. he's ordered the military and police to open fire on protesters. but there are rumors that he's disappeared.

Libyan protesters celebrated in the streets of Benghazi on Monday, claiming control of the country's second largest city after bloody fighting, and anti-government unrest spread to the capital with clashes in Tripoli's main square for the first time. Muammar al-Qaddafi's son vowed that his father and security forces would fight "until the last bullet."

Somehow in all these revolutions happening all of a sudden I hear about Libya, what the heck happened there? I thought Qaddafi had such a strong hold on his people? we never seem to hear anything at all about them.

the rumor mill

Venezuela denies Libya's Gaddafi en route

Quote
Reuters) - A senior source in the Venezuelan government denied on Monday reports that Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi was traveling to the South American oil-producing nation led by his ally President Hugo Chavez.

The Caracas government "denies such information," the source told Reuters.

British Foreign Secretary William Hague said earlier he had seen information to suggest Gaddafi had fled Libya amid violent protests in several cities that have unsettled the government, and that he was on his way to the South American oil-exporting nation.

Several media had also reported rumors that Gaddafi was headed to Venezuela. Chavez and Gaddafi have visited each other and enjoy warm political relations.

The DUmmies, the left and the MSM have all been cheering for these protesters in the Mid East and Africa, pointing out "peaceful" revolutions were taking place.  Funny thing is, the peacefulness has mainly been in countries with reasonably good ties with the US.  Libya is really the first country that isn't.  How peaceful is that revolution going?
