Forgive my ignorance here, but how can this end well for the Democrats in Wisc.?

I don't know why the people of Wisconsin voted this idiot Republican Governor in, or the Republican congress, but they did.

Walker has said he will not bend, and eventually the Democrats will have to return for other issues right?

Won't that be all the Republicans need to pass his crappy deal?

At best it will wake the people who didn't vote in 2010, and they can change the legislature in 2012, but isn't the Republican Governor and legislature going to get their way? At least for now, in the short term?

Probably the long term, too.

21. It may take us more than 15 minutes.

Whatever action a legislature takes can be repealed by a later legislature.

What Walker has done is, likely, to ensure that for the next 20 years there will be more labor-friendly government in WI.

Only an instant-grat American would think of 2 years (or 4) as "the long run."

We'll survive, and then we'll thrive.

Oh, I dunno.

We'll see.

12. Think revolution... we are in that dynamic now and it will not end well for Walker. He will have to bend. If he does not, this is coming to a state near you. This is about you. Support them.

48. You're absolutely right.

We are not in "revolution mode" or anything close to it. People are hurting today, but they are not really sympathizing with the protesters in Wisconsin. Comparing him to Hitler or Mubarak doesn't help - hyperbole is becoming the real enemy, not Walker.

The Republicans will have their way - they voted Walker and the GOP in, very recently, and they won't change their mind all that quickly.

Bottom line is that yes, we are in very dire straits in this country. But we are not close to experiencing the level of privation that people in Egypt, Yemen, or in 1930s America experienced. It will take something along those lines in order for us to have real revolution.

Can't wait for when Breitbart and the Tea Partyers show up tomorrow. Then we see the communist democrats head splodin.

On another note.  It looks like the Governor can have the donk senators up on felony charges, same for the teachers.

From a Hot Air thread:

Quote
Wisconsin’s Public Integrity Statute makes these State Senators actions a felony. Indite and Extradite Should be the new State motto.

    946.12
946.12 Misconduct in public office. Any public officer or public employee who does any of the following is guilty of a Class I felony:

    946.12(1)
    (1) Intentionally fails or refuses to perform a known mandatory, nondiscretionary, ministerial duty of the officer’s or employee’s office or employment within the time or in the manner required by law; or

    946.12(2)
    (2) In the officer’s or employee’s capacity as such officer or employee, does an act which the officer or employee knows is in excess of the officer’s or employee’s lawful authority or which the officer or employee knows the officer or employee is forbidden by law to do in the officer’s or employee’s official capacity; or

    946.12(3)
    (3) Whether by act of commission or omission, in the officer’s or employee’s capacity as such officer or employee exercises a discretionary power in a manner inconsistent with the duties of the officer’s or employee’s office or employment or the rights of others and with intent to obtain a dishonest advantage for the officer or employee or another; or

    946.12(4)
    (4) In the officer’s or employee’s capacity as such officer or employee, makes an entry in an account or record book or return, certificate, report or statement which in a material respect the officer or employee intentionally falsifies; or

    946.12(5)
    (5) Under color of the officer’s or employee’s office or employment, intentionally solicits or accepts for the performance of any service or duty anything of value which the officer or employee knows is greater or less than is fixed by law.

    946.12 – ANNOT.
    History: 1977 c. 173; 1993 a. 486; 2001 a. 109.

    946.12 – ANNOT.
    Sub. (5) prohibits misconduct in public office with constitutional specificity. Ryan v. State, 79 Wis. 2d 83, 255 N.W.2d 910 (1977).

    946.12 – ANNOT.
Sub. (3) applies to a corrupt act under color of office and under de facto powers conferred by practice and usage. A person who is not a public officer may be charged as a party to the crime of official misconduct. State v. Tronca, 84 Wis. 2d 68, 267 N.W.2d 216 (1978).

    946.12 – ANNOT.
An on-duty prison guard did not violate sub. (2) by fornicating with a prisoner in a cell. State v. Schmit, 115 Wis. 2d 657, 340 N.W.2d 752 (Ct. App. 1983).

    946.12 – ANNOT.
Sub. (3) is not unconstitutionally vague. It does not fail to give notice that hiring and directing staff to work on political campaigns on state time with state resources is a violation. A legislator’s duty under this section may be determined by reference to a variety of sources including the Senate Policy Manual, applicable statutes, and legislative rules and guidelines. The Senate Policy Manual and senate guidelines restricted political campaigning with public resources. State v. Chvala, 2004 WI App 53, 271 Wis. 2d 115, 678 N.W.2d 880, 03-0442. Affirmed. 2005 WI 30, 279 Wis. 2d 216, 693 N.W.2d 747, 03-0442. See also State v. Jensen, 2004 WI App 89, 272 Wis. 2d 707, 684 N.W.2d 136, 03-0106. Affirmed. 2005 WI 31, 279 Wis. 2d 220, 694 N.W.2d 56, 03-0106.

    946.12 – ANNOT.
Sub. (3) regulates conduct and not speech and is not subject to an overbreadth challenge under the 1st amendment. Legislators or their employees are not prohibited from doing or saying anything related to participation in political campaigns so long as they do not use state resources for that purpose. Legitimate legislative activity is not constrained by this statute. The line between “legislative activity” and “political activity” is sufficiently clear to prevent any confusion as to what conduct is prohibited under this statute. State v. Chvala, 2004 WI App 53, 271 Wis. 2d 115, 678 N.W.2d 880, 03-0442. Affirmed. 2005 WI 30, 279 Wis. 2d 216, 693 N.W.2d 747, 03-0442. See also State v. Jensen, 2004 WI App 89, 272 Wis. 2d 707, 684 N.W.2d 136, 03-0106. Affirmed. 2005 WI 31, 279 Wis. 2d 220, 694 N.W.2d 56, 03-0106.

    946.12 – ANNOT.
Enforcement of sub. (3) against a legislator does not violate the separation of powers doctrine. Enforcement does not require the courts to enforce legislative rules governing the enactment of legislation. Rather, the courts are asked to enforce a penal statute that relates to the duties of a legislator. A court may interpret an internal legislative rule to determine criminal liability if, when applied to the facts of the specific case, the rule is not ambiguous. State v. Chvala, 2004 WI App 53, 271 Wis. 2d 115, 678 N.W.2d 880, 03-0442. Affirmed. 2005 WI 30, 279 Wis. 2d 216, 693 N.W.2d 747, 03-0442. See also State v. Jensen, 2004 WI App 89, 272 Wis. 2d 707, 684 N.W.2d 136, 03-0106. Affirmed. 2005 WI 31, 279 Wis. 2d 220, 694 N.W.2d 56, 03-0106.

I hope the Governor decides to play hardball with all of the donk thugs.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

These aren't peasants that are rising up, but they are pretty revolting. If these weren't union members, the DUmmies would be attacking them for being the greedy rich that are sucking the life out of the lower income tax payers.   Teachers and others that are making 60K plus on average do not fall into the peasant category.

UNION UNION UNION UNION UNION UNION

You Dumb SOB! You and your ilk don't have a clue, do ya? We're ****in' broke, asshole! Where are ya gonna get the money to pay for pensions ya don't have the funds for? Are all you DUmb mutha****as this ****in' stooooopid? No wonder we refer to y'all as DUmbass!

States can't print money like the Fed and your messiah does on a daily basis! WI has a state constitution that mandates they balance the budget! What a novel idea! If the fed had done that very same thing 20 years ago, maybe we wouldn't owe the American Soul to the Chinese!

Just when are you asshats goin' to let the truth filter thru to yer little pointy heads? We are outa money for your feel good freebies! It's time for your constituents to get outa bed and take care of themselves! No more of this, "I'm depressed, so I can't work", shit! Grow some nads and get out there like the rest of us!

How is it you don't understand the Governor of WI is merely askin' the public union employees to sacrifice half what us in the private sector already have been subjected to for years? When was the last time any of us in the private sector relied on the collective to negotiate for us? He wants to take collective bargaining away for the benefits and healthcare, for cripes sake! Why, I ask you, should that be tied to a wage contract in the first ****in' place? No private sector job is remotely similar! Your benefits increase as your experience and value increases to your employer!

Call the waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaambulance, ya worthless piece of moonbat guano!
