THE BUSTED BABOON PRIMITIVE
Original message

I just sent the following LTTE to my local rag. Wonder if they'll print it?

Recent events in Wisconsin have received a good amount of coverage in national media. But unfortunately, what the so-called "liberal media" almost always neglect to mention, is that Wisconsin's "budget crisis" didn't even exist until it's newly-elected Governor, Scott Walker, signed into law several HUGE tax giveaways to Big Business and the state's wealthiest people. In fact, at the end of 2010, Wisconsin was one of the few states in the U.S. that had a budget surplus.

Yes. That's right. It's not "greedy, selfish union-member civil servants" who caused Wisconsin's budget crisis. (Indeed, Wisconsin's state workers recently made huge "givebacks" to the state.) But they are being targeted due to a budget crisis specifically engineered by the national conservative movement as a pretext for union busting.

You see, for all that the right loves to whine about "class warfare" whenever anyone talks about economic fairness, the right has been carpet-bombing the middle-class and poor since 1981. Sadly, the Republican Party is a wholly-owned subsidiary of big business. (Even more sad is that large segments of the Democratic Party have also been co-opted by Multinational Corporate money.)

In the end, the wealthiest of Americans wish to pay ALL of us wages on par with what the Chinese get. But they want us to keep paying American prices for the cheap crap that they churn out in the factories they've shipped overseas. Obviously, that cannot work over the long-term.

But here's the good news: since the Mega Wealthy and their drones are now so shameless and brazen in their assault on Americans, more and more Americans are now seeing the Man Behind the Curtain. Wisconsin is just the first round of severe backlash against destructive Reagan-era trickle down nonsense.

We need to keep it up, get out in the streets and exercise our 1st Amendment rights. We can turn things around. We just need to pull our collective heads from our collective butts and admit (like Reagan Budget Director David Stockman) that Reaganomics - which has unfortunately been practiced to one degree or another by every President since Reagan, including Clinton and Obama - has been a complete failure. Only by going back to the days of strong government regulation of business, strong organized labor and a decent living wage can we ever hope to repair our economy. Because it isn't anything on the supply-side of the equation that drives economic demand. It is available income. That is a basic Econ 101 fact that no amount of Limbaugh, Hannity or Beck nonsense-spewing can refute.

A few primitives have commented, mostly complimenting the busted baboon primitive, but as they're PonP, it wasn't worth putting their comments into the boat and bringing them over.

Now, wait a minute, didn't Governor, Scott Walker, inherit a $1+ BILLION DOLLAR deficit?

“The national budget must be balanced. The public debt must be reduced; the arrogance of the authorities must be moderated and controlled. Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”

“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

I believe it will be something like 3.5 billion over his tenure. This year in order to balance the budget, which by the way he is required to do by state law, it's around 311 million, which he inherited from his predecessor.

I don't think the Buffoon's letter will be posted as it's not even close to bein' factual!

ETA:

The people of WI elected him to do just what he is doing! Wonder if that matters at all to any of these left wing asshats?

I have a suggestion, DUmmies, if it ain't your state, shut the **** up! You have no dog in the fight! Apparently the good citizens of WI know what they want, or they would never have put him in office!

Scott Brown, Scott Walker, Rick Scott, how in hell is one supposed to keep all these political Scotts straight? Why can't we have more politicians with distinctive names, like Basil Marceaux? I believe the only Scott the DUmmies like is Scott Ritter, the Pittesque pedophile.

Bush has been out of office for 2 years.  He's still to blame for every O-ministration failure.  :fuelfire:
