How many people felt *afraid* to put McCain/Palin stickers on their cars?

... and how many worried about their Obama stickers? Or were so worried they didn't even put one on their car?

Both sides are not the same. One side is willing to use physical intimidation and one is not.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=439x181938

What about all the bouncies of flipping off Bush bumper stickers and keying cars?

I see tons of stickers from both sides I haven't seen anyone in fear to display them.
I'm sure I get flipped off and such for having a W04 sticker on my truck still.

5. The only time I was ever "afraid" of a bumper sticker on my car was when

I had a Dean for America sticker and a car almost ran us off the road.

6. My car got egged because of an Obama magnet

Ruined the finish. Thank God the right has always advocated civil discourse!

:sarcasm:

Ask me how many times I have vandalized a political sign. Now ask every other person here the same question. Not one of us has ever done such a thing. We are not responsible for something someone else does if any of that really happened anyway.

8. I've had my Obama sticker off since he won in 2008. I live in a red area

and there are assholes everywhere--I don't need trouble.

I bet you really tore it off when you didn't get single payer healthcare.

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

The only time in my life that "I" put up a political sign in my yard, the brown skin Obama supporters were seen tearing it down several times.

The DUmmies fail to mention two things. The various attacks on their cars were probably done by Hillary  supporters, or they happened because the DUmmies did something to piss another lefty off.

My friend's car was keyed for an Bush bumper sticker, and I've never put political stickers on my car for fear of being keyed.

Probably anyone who had to leave it parked unattended in an inner city or university campus.  Where I live, nobody, but then neither did the handful of idiots with Obama stickers have to worry either.

  • Hi, I'm Sue!
There's an SUV here at work that has had a 'Hockey Moms for Palin' sticker on it for over 2 years -- not a scratch on it.

I'm not a fan of bumper stickers but I would put a Palin magnet on my car . . . sorry, not a McCain one.  I held my nose and pulled the lever for him in '08 but I wasn't happy about it.  :(

I do give 'thumbs-up' to drivers with W stickers on their cars -- I still see quite a few of them.

We had a dipshit dem rep up here that ran as a conservative a coupla years ago and got elected. The DUmbass voted for ObwanaCare and his fate was sealed! I had a sign out front, I have about 300yds of frontage on the highway, that said vote for Obwana's policy, vote for whatever his name was! I don't tend to remember asshole dems!

Only lasted a coupla days! Not sue if a lib stole it, or a conserv that didn't get the joke!

I was not afraid to put a McCain/Palin sticker on I was concerned as two of my Bush stickers were defaced and my truck keyed. I didn't put it on.

I remember there were numerous stories by the DUchebags about vandalizing cars with Bush stickers on it.

Again, typical liberal projection.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

I had my car keyed during the '04 elections.  My whole back window was painted with a W sign.  It could have been that or maybe someone just thought I was a douche.  I would be embarassed to admit that I was scared to put a bumper sticker on my car.

I don't do bumper stickers, but my semi-brainwashed niece has a sticker inside her back window that reads, "Rush Is A Big Fat Idiot" or some such juvenile crap. I warned her that it wasn't such a good idea because we live in a hyper-Red area, not because I really expected something to happen, but I'm a little over-protective of her (she's like a daughter to me). Well, it's been 3-4 years now and it's still there and she's never had a problem, not even a nasty look.

To tell the truth, I've always been more worried about my U of F National Champions license plate, what with all the Seminole and Bulldog fans around here.  :-)

In Madison WI any sort of non-idiot bumper sticker is something that has to be thought about.

How do you know it was because of the Obama magnet?

Did the egg thrower leave a note on your windshield explaining their reason for throwing a dozen eggs on your car?  Or maybe your neighbor's just don't like you very much.  OR... it was a bunch of teenage hooligans?

I lived in Madison from 2001-2003.  Around the time when greenies were running around and slashing the tires of SUV's.

I've never put any bumper sticker on a vehicle, but I wouldn't put a political one on regardless.  Not only have some Democrats already expressed an ugly opinion of my views to my face, but my husband teaches at a college.  He is known to be a conservative Republican, he has little trouble on this campus...but I've no doubt there are co-workers and students that would enjoy a little vandalism.

I remember that era, one of the college papers had a headline nearly every day that read "Greens protest..."  Maybe both of them did but I really only ever looked at one.
