I don't know when or why it started but blacks have been making and wearing T-shirts to funerals for several years now. They usually have a picture of the deceased on the front/back or both sides with the line "In loving memomery of ___________." and the dates of birth and death.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin

I wonder if that has to do with so many children be gunned down by gangbangers.

According to Fox News, it was the university that made 20,000 tshirts and handed them out.

I finally saw the whole thing early this morning on Fox News. The Native American who opened the event...is a family practice doctor and attended the university. Maybe the organizers of it, thought that having a Native American do the opening was most appropriate for the people of Arizona.

Napolitano did a reading from the Book of Isiah in the Old Testament.

Obama did not have TOTUS, he read from his notes.

Personally, I thought it was a good speech. A bit long, but basically apolitical. I thought one of the best things he said was in regard to how Christina felt about our country... "I want America to be as good as she imagined it ..."

Regardless, of what anyone thinks of Obama, whether they think he's a hero or a zero (God knows, I personally think he's a terrible president)...his speech last night was good. Whoever wrote it did a good job, and he did a better than decent job of delivery.

If any of you who haven't listened to the entire speech, and are highly critical of it....then you are acting no differently than the DUmmies who take things out of context and critcize us.
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Save the Earth... it's the only planet with chocolate.

"My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what I start. So far I've finished two bags of M&M's and a chocolate cake. I feel better already." – Dave Barry

A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands.

I've noticed that as well.

I plan on going to the memorial for Debbie Flores Narvaez (the woman brutally killed by her ex boyfriend in Las Vegas) tonight.  I highly doubt anyone will be cheering.

I'm predicting failure for ObeyWon tonight.  I've seen enough of his speeches. I have yet to see any evidence of his ability to show empathy or even sympathy for people. The only emotion I've seen him demonstrate is anger. That is not what is needed.

I heard Clinton was trying to give him empathy lessons.  Biting the lower lip, the sad wrinkles in your face, shedding a fake tear, etc...

I finally listened to Obama, and I will say that he wasn't bad. However the cheering and clapping was disconcerting to say the least.

I read someplace the Arizona State is a huge lib bastion.

Most universities are sadly.

And minor correction: the "memorial" was held at University of Arizona, not Arizona State.

Michelle Malkin has compared the tones of last night's "memorial" and the Virginia Tech memorial. Stark contrast.

I'm embarrassed for the U of A and Tucson. The whole thing was a spectacle when what it should have been was a somber, reflective service.

To be fair, ASU did deny Obama an honorary degree. So they have that going for them. LOL. But otherwise, no, same shit, different city.  :-)

I'm told ASU parties harder too. But I know nothing about that.  :whistling:

Good find.  I had heard that the University had commissioned the shirt printing.  Guess again, Paco...

I know, right?  :censored:
A memorial? That was inappropriate with all the clapping and cheering going on. Last time I went to a funeral, we didn't hold a pep rally.
OH! I forgot. We didn't bus in SEIU thugs neither. Disgusting.

Just like him to use others to make it all about him.

Well; who else would it be about?

But seriously; enough about Barry Big Ears.  What were you saying about Barry?
