I believe the first responders thing is a slap at the Republicans standing in the way of the 9-11 special bill for which the Dems refused to explain any funding mechanism or spending cut to offset, since we were supposed to roll over and give away money to feel good without worrying about where it came from.

Just how much money are we supposed to give these people? How many billions have we already spent? For cripes sake, we could have bought the whole damn state by now and put someone in charge to make sure where the damn money went!
