Yeah, seems like DU is shifting to the right and it's feeling like I'm completely alienated with the right-wing elements of DU. I know Skinner prescribes to the DLC ideology. I don't know if Capn Sunshine still does, but I've found Old Elm Tree a enlightening and a progressive board.

It's past time to raise the taxes on the rich, PLUS another raise on the capital gains - that was one of Chimp's biggest mistake was removing the tax on the capital gains - it is not DOUBLE TAXATION by any means.

Capital gains was claimed as being double taxation?!?!  When??

You have to wonder where this babbling idiot comes up with this junk, and why no one on the island calls him out on it.  If you ever did, wonder no longer; it's because they don't know.

Lesson for the primitives:

Dividends paid by corporations to their stockholders are double taxed, you morons.  You see, dividends are not a business expense, ergo corps pay taxes on what is paid out in dividends.  And those who receive money via dividends are taxed as part of their individual income.  That's double taxation.  I've never heard anyone even try to argue that's not double taxation.

All you do when you go into debt settlement is go from owing the bank to owing the government.  Oh, and the government has higher interest rates, penalties, and the ability to garnish wages and withold benefit checks.
