I told my son this afternoon, "you will never receive Social Security" In anticipation of today's vote in the Senate I told my son, this afternoon, that there wasn't much chance he would ever receive Social Security in his life. He knew it, or at least he's believed it, for a long time. Today was the first day I honestly considered it to be likely.

I told him why too, and in want to repeat it now - just so everyone understands what at least one part of this very very bad tax cut deal means to the Social Security System. Many of you already understand what I'm about to say, and probably understand it better than I do to tell the truth. Please chime in with any corrections or to fix anything I've misrepresented, because I don't want to get this wrong.

...blah, blah, blah, whine, whine, whine, repukes, repukes, whine, blah, blah....

What on earth is wrong with us. We kill the best program in Government and concurrently shoot ourselves in the foot for the next election. How much longer can I continue to call myself a Democrat with this sort of foolishness going on?

As a son, how would you handle this? Your alleged father is sitting there, drunk, sucking on a doobie, wearing a necklace of his own self-extracted teeth (DUmmy ThomWV's only unique distinction), claiming to understand better than anyone involved one of the most complex programs on earth.  I think you'd have to laugh.

2. I'm in my early 50's, but I never expected to receive, it really...
Growing up in the 60's, I never quite imagined things would still be "holding together" when I was old enough to theoretically collect it...

3. I know that was the hardest thing you probably had to tell him-one of the hardest.
My wife and I are resigned to the same fact that we ourselves will not receive social security.

I don't understand why these DUmmies are so upset and pessimistic. Most of them have received SS their entire lives through bogus disability claims. The others are unlikely to ever accumulate enough work credits to qualify. So most of the pension benefits will go to people who have worked their entire lives, i.e., the rich bastards that democrats love to hate. They should applaud the demise of SS pensions.

Yeah, yeah.

The mountain man primitive who, like all men, nightly pitches his tent one day's march nearer the mausoleum.

Ever since the mountain man primitive turned 65 and started collecting social security (about a year and a half ago, I think, if I remember correctly), it's been his "cause."

Let national defense dwindle, let infrastructure rot and decay, let children go uneducated, let the poor go unfed and unclothed, let the ill get sicker, let Generations X and Y be suffocated under increasingly-oppressive taxes, let people die.....just don't touch the mountain man primitive's damned social security check.

Talk about tunnel vision, and an unwillingness to sacrifice for the greater good.

Isn't that the opposite of what Dems, liberals, and primitives preach?

The mountain man primitive, who has a shrine in his home--John the Father, Bobby the Christ, and Teddy the Holy Ghost--is a selfish, flatulent old grouch.

Nah.  Whatever else, he's still your Dad.  You nod and say 'Sure Dad, thanks for the insight.  Hey, what about those (Whatever team follows)?' and then put all that Social Security blather out of your mind since it's certainly random meaningless BS and most likely entirely wrong to boot.

Yeah.

One time, the mountain man primitive said dental fees were too high, and allegedly pulled out some of his own teeth.

I remember that frank.  I was more laughing (and I really was!) at the WHOLE description in the bolded part.  OMGosh.  That is some funny stuff right there!

PS thanks for the addition to my sig.  That is one of the most thought provoking statements I've read.  Hope you don't mind me adding it ... I probably should have asked first.

Jeez. Go get a whaamburger and some french crys you DUmmy ****s. This is what happens when you don't live in reality. I've known since I was in high school that Social Security was not in my future. How did I know? There's no ****ing money left. The piggy bank has been robbed blind and now there are more people taking than contributing. And it's only going to get worse.

And I blame you and your ilk for defrauding the system to the point where hope of saving it is gone.

I'm flattered, but mystified.

That's hardly profound; it's just common sense.

Yes, it's common sense but that's not so common anymore.

It is a very deep sentiment that I don't think a lot of people (read liberals) get.

Let your son know that he could have 13% more each and every paycheck to invest as he saw fit and in the end would own the assets.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.
