I received this note via Facebook from VT Governor-elect Peter Shumlin:

I just announced my health care reform team that will work on getting single payer in Vermont. Steve Kimbell will be Commissioner of BISHCA, Harry Chen will become the Commissioner of the Department of Health, Susan Besio will remain in her role as Commissioner of the Department of Vermont Health Access and Anya Rader Wallack will lead the health care reform efforts as Special Assistant to the Governor.

The law is already written. All he has to do is not veto it like Arnold has done.

That could be the only reason that CA hasn't totally collapsed yet.
Just where they plan on getting the money from all this no one knows.

I live in one of the bankrupt states and trust me they all think something else will be cut or someone will have it stuck to them to finance it.

Aw, shit--that's all we need in New Hampshire.  More flatlander leeches.  Trust me, the people who are clamoring for this shit are NOT native Vermonters for the most part.  VT used to be as conservative as any state until the flatlanders started taking over.

Personally, I'm hoping Andy Cuomo faces up to realitiy and starts hacking and slaying in January, when the budget comes out.  PEF and CSEA are already lining up against some of the proposed cuts.  I love it.
