I divorce you, I divorce you, I divorce you,...and it's a done deal in Islam.
...and you can beat her.... Hey, you know something, Islam is beginning to look a little better.... 
The Hindu culture is even more bazaar, a woman brings a dowry to her marriage.
If the wife cannot produce a male child the husband has no choice but to divorce her. Problem is if he divorces her then she gets the dowry back and goes home to family.
Here come the worse then Muslem life style.
A woman who marries goes to live with the husbands family, parents and UN married sisters and the husband may be the only one to support ageing parents or unmarried sisters.
What is a family to do if their support line has a wife that cannot give them male baby's, he cannot remarry while she is still living and to divorce her means her dowry leaves the family. The only way to keep money in the family is if the wife has a fatal accident allowing the husband to remarry and add another dowry to the family's coffers.
Once a woman gives birth to a son, she becomes head of the house hold and when her husbands father dies, she can in fact put his mother and sisters on the street to become beggars. Some woman put their own mothers out to what ever befalls them. One less mouth to feed.
Today with modern medicine woman run off to the doctor for a sonar gram when first pregnant, if the baby is a girl it is aborted and the wife becomes pregnant again as soon as possible.
The strange result of all this is that there is now today a serious shortage of females for a man to wed. Much tension in that culture as the men are now marring outside their culture and bringing in new wives that have been educated better then the men and make more demands then the Hindu woman of yesterday.
The Muslim life style is not that bad when one looks at the other cultures that arrive every day on our soil.
