Explaining about Walmart to my son
   
I don't shop at Walmart. My son just asked for a particular toy which he says is sold at Walmart. I told him why I don't shop there. The workers get paid minimum wage, the company treats them poorly and they have a terrible track record. And the cheap stuff that they sell is only cheap because they are basically using "slave-labor" in poor countries. So we do a little googling.

Would he like to try to live on $7.25 an hour? "No way", he says. What if he were a janitor locked into the store all night and there was a fire? His eyes are getting wider. There are reports on the Internet of the workers in Bangladesh getting paid 16 cents an hour, working up to 20 hour days. "Wow. They wouldn't have any time to spend with their friends."

And where does this money go? I show him the Top 10 Forbes list of richest people in America. There are FOUR Walton siblings on the list, each with $23 Billion dollars. He says Wow. The four of them combined have almost $100 Billion dollars. That's right -- $92 Billion to be exact. I tell him, that means that if they gave away all of their money, they could take 92,000 peoplewho have NO money and turn them into millionaires. Instead of 92,000 millionaires, there are 4 people with $23 Billion each.

Yes, you can buy a cheap shirt or a toy at Walmart, but the people who make them will be working like slaves, and the people who sell them are struggling to pay their bills, but the people who own the stores will still keep getting richer and richer.

Typical BS from a commie lib.

Walmart's starting pay is 50 above minimum (I'm quoting local, where you CAN live on minimum wage), so the $7.25 or whatever is Bull.

Most are open 24 hours, and the ones that aren't, all fire and safety doors are unlocked to open outwards, as per OSHA standards.  NO way in HELL you can get locked IN a Walmart, although you will set off the fire alarm if you leave.

16 cents an hour in Bangladesh and working 20 hour days.  WHO GIVES A FLYING ****!  IF that's what they get paid and how long the want to work, so what!  I hear Lord Zero's brother/cousin/whatever lives in a mud hut off of $20 a YEAR.

As far as the Walton siblings having $23 billion each, I don't care if they have $23 TRILLION each.  They work for it, they earned it, they deserve it.  What they choose to do (or not do) with their money is their F'N business.

DUmmie lostnfound is more lost than anything else.  Of all the things lostnfound HAS lost, I bet he/she/it misses his/hers/its mind the most.

Uh, I think that require some of the mind to be left over, to realize he/she/it lost it in the first place.  I don't think that is the case.

It's just a terminal case of class envy with the DUmmies.  Their gub'ment checks will never come anywhere near what the Walton family EARNED (yes, I said earned) so in their pea brains nobody should ever have that much money.

WAL-MART has stuff to sell...that's how they make money.

I bet the DUmmy is first in line with their hand upout for their labor free instant millionaire payout. Makes me wonder - if they ever got a payout like that, would they be happy to just hand it all out and give 10K people a hundred bucks each.

Somehow I doubt it.
