C.P.I.C. (Colossal Prick-In-Chief) Declares War on Fox - Part Deux
« on: September 28, 2010, 12:24:06 PM »
The self-absorbed bullshit artist just can't help himself in next month's Highlights for Children...err...Rolling Stone. This postpartisan leader who sought to forge a new era of politics, devoid of the old practice of name-calling and blame-shifting would rise above it all and focus on the issues which unite us.

So confidence was he in his own positions that he would brush off any criticism, knowing that if he continued to make his case to the American people, they would give him a fair hearing.  But, he has a pebble in his shoe and can’t seem to shake it out.  And it’s called FoxNews.  The Mocha Messiah declares:

Quote
. . . the cable news outlet to be “destructive to [America's] long-term growth.”

In a more than 8,000-word interview with Rolling Stone Magazine, Obama compared the cable news channel to papers owned by William Randolph Hearst at the turn of the 20th century that unabashedly pushed the media titan’s own political views.

And what, pray tell, does he call CNN or MSNBC? Oh, that's right. You don't call the person who's blowing you names, do you? Bad form, that.  :bird:

Hey Dumbo?!? Maybe you should worry more about the economy, the jobs picture and the state of the U.S.A. in general and maybe then you wouldn't have to worry about what people are saying about you. How's that sound "professor dumbo"?!
But, I realize that you are a radical and don't want America to succeed, because we've had it too good for so long, it's time for someone else to have the wealth. Well, you can take a walk for all I care. :bird: :censored:

And pray tell, Obumbler, how ARE those networks doing ratings-wise when they're busy wiping off their chins or getting "tingles"?

I seem to recall at least one of those networks was being outdrawn by the Cartoon Network.

It's funny that this comes out following the release of another poll on where people get their news.

Quote
Poll: Bill O'Reilly is popular, but Rachel Maddow is unknown to likely voters

More people are getting their news about the upcoming election from cable television than any other source, and from Fox News more than any other cable channel, according to a POLITICO/George Washington University Battleground Poll released Monday.

The poll found that 81 percent of those polled get their news about the midterm elections from cable channels, like Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, or their websites, compared with 71 percent from national network news channels, such as ABC, NBC or CBS, and their webssites.

Among cable news channels, Fox was the clear winner, with 42 percent of respondents saying it is their main source, compared with 30 percent who cited CNN and 12 percent who rely on MSNBC.

Get full poll results.

The results show the growing influence that 24-hour cable news has on shaping the political consciousness, despite the fact that network newscasts still draw many multiples of the number of viewers of even the highest-rated cable news shows.

“Because people can tune into cable at any time of day, I think the cumulative audience is probably larger than the cumulative audience for the three network news shows,” said Chris Arterton, dean of the George Washington University’s Graduate School of Political Management.

I get my news from numerous sources. Yes, even MSNBC upon occasion. Fox News almost makes me ill in the morning. All of the "Happy, happy, joy, joy" bullshit is enough to drive a normal person insane. Then, add in the incessant and all too frequent advertisements and I switch channels. This morning, I got the most pertinent news from CNN, one of the CID interviews with a soldier in Afghanistan alleged to have committed atrocities. Fox was too narrowly focused on politics, as usual. Headline News is another that I frequent.

BTW, I absolutely LOATHE Gretchen Carlson..... silly woman that she is..... (and an ill-informed anti-gun idiot, too)

I WILL be the FIRST to admit that 0bama is just passing the blame onto Fox. He's a moron for doing so, too.

51. Maybe a real radical station would encourage some censuring
What would happen if we did not censor at all. I suggest we exorcise our free speech. Free speech means that hardcore straight and gay porn should be available on tv and radio (radio?)as easily accessible as other shows A channel on atheism or the mass delusion of the mentally ill religious who believe in such nonsense. Stories about pedophilia and talk show hosts who talk about the pleasures of abortion or even sadism. The idea is to counter that anything should go on tv and radio and that what some people consider to be offensive is not offensive to others. It's the same argument about gun control; no restrictions, so giving gun nuts and free speech liars full free speech can cut both ways.

I am not for porn on the tv or the sadist channel, I just think that it would illustrate that there is a need to have some standards and these shows would get teabaggers to make the argument that would cut off fox. (Huh?)One cannot have it both ways, fox can say anything but sadists and atheists can't talk about their opinions. Not that atheists are sadist, I am using topics that would bother the average teabagger into welcoming some standards. I personally would rather have the porn channel freely available rather than fox lies.

I think all morning TV shows are as annoying as hell, I don't care what channel it is.  Other than sports.  I listen to Mike & Mike in the morning on ESPN Radio.

Typical DUmbass....... the courts have already ruled that porn doesn't fall under the 1st Amendment.....

I find it pathetic that three years ago, these very same people were clamoring about how dissent was patriotic. NOW, these people are the ones wanting to silence dissent or opposing opinions. Tell you what, ****wad DUmbasses.... if you don't like Fox News, DON'T ****ING watch it or read it from their site!! I LOATHE Keith Olberman, Rachel Maddox, & Chrissy Matthews. Guess what?? The people that are getting the shaft are the senior citizens and others on a fixed income.

They buy basic cable and get local stations and a few liberal news stations but Fox news is the extra and lumped in with some expensive packages that they have no need for.

Radio is to the seniors a good source of Conservative news and free[so far]. And this is the generation that were in their 30's before they bought their first TV, in some ways they are more comfortable with a radio then the TV as they can move about freely in their homes, listen and not have to sit in one place to become informed.

My generation we had TV by the time we were in school, but for the first few years of our lives we listened to the radio.

I well remember the very first time we could afford a TV, the first progran I remember watching was a cooking show and back then the technology in its infancy had no way to buffer the sound of an electric mixer or the sounds of stage hands, off set, falling off ladders or banging into something.

Interesting idea that Porn on the radio, I bet it would be a winner as our imagination going along with whoever is describing the scene could be more powerful then watching a tape of it.  Stephen King read his book Dark Tower on audio and I listened to it on cassette on a long trip.  I had to turn the bloody thing off as he got to some sex scenes, damn near ran off the road.

Vesta, the DUmmies all claim that FNC is on basic cable while PMSNBC, CNN, et. al. are on premium cable service.  I'm pretty sure that all the cable news are on one of the lower tiers here, but not the lowest.

Still, Fox has the highest ratings of the cable news among older people.

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama has reopened a long-running feud with Fox News Channel, branding the conservative U.S. cable network as "ultimately destructive for the long-term growth" of the United States.

In an interview published Tuesday by Rolling Stone magazine, Obama took specific aim at Fox's Australian-born chairman and chief executive, accusing Rupert Murdoch of being more concerned about generating profits than promoting an agenda to improve America's well-being.
