sixth anniversary of the most excellent DUmmie FUnnies
« on: September 23, 2010, 11:58:27 AM »
In case one's not aware, today (September 23) is the sixth anniversary of the DUmmie FUnnies on freerepublic.

Produced by the incomparable P-J Comix, Charles Henrickson, and Paul Heinzman.

The DUmmie FUnnies have covered a lot of territory the past six years, and one should remember that for three days in May-June 2005 during the Scamdal, the DUmmie FUnnies--a simple thread on freerepublic, a minuscule part of freerepublic--had more traffic than the whole of Skins's island.  And many other days, the DUmmie FUnnies weren't too far behind.

One of the most glorious moments, but there's been other great glorious moments too.

Actually, the DUmmie FUnnies are a few months past six years of age.  They really began a few months earlier, the summer of 2004, when P-J Comix was slipping in mini-versions of what later became the full-fledged DUmmie FUnnies, into other threads on freerepublic, until a member complained that he should post them as free-standing topics, rather than as comments inside of other threads.

Six great glorious years, the DUmmie FUnnies.

Today's edition is "it's not easy being a primitive."

apres moi, le deluge

Milo Yiannopoulos "It has been obvious since 2016 that Trump carries an anointing of some kind. My American friends, are you so blind to reason, and deaf to Heaven? Can he do all this, and cannot get a crown? This man is your King. Coronate him, and watch every devil shriek, and every demon howl."

It's not easy being a Democrat.

Democrats, unlike Republicans, have the burden and the honor of representing The People of the country. As such, we're a multi-faceted group with a spectrum of interests reflecting the amazing quilt of Americans who work hard, try to provide for their families and hope for a better future for our children.

We're women and men. Gay and straight. Young and old.

Hispanic, Anglo, African-American, Asian-American. From European roots. Christian, Muslim, Atheist, Hindu, Buddhist, Jewish.

We're poor and middle class. Some are more privileged. Some come from nothing. Some are homeless. Some are unemployed.

Some of us belong to Unions. Some work in professional services. Some in medical fields. Some are artists.

Some are mothers. Some are childless. Some are disabled. Some speak english as a second language. Some speak english as a fifth or sixth language.

Some of us live in densely populated cities. Some of us live on farms. Some on the coast.

We're the every-changing fabric of this country and we're all struggling.

Contrast this with the Republican party. They only have to represent one group: the corporate class. Every other interest comes after that, because according to the free market fundamentalists, laissez-faire economic policy is all that's needed to solve all economic and social problems.

What a stupid post, and the sad thing is the OP actually believes this. I've said it before, I was born a Republican, and I grew up poor, my Parents between them worked 5 jobs to put me through Parochial School, in particular High School where the cost was about 10 times that of Parochial Grammar School, my Parents didn't have it easy and I have it slightly easier than they did, but more important my Parents never felt the Government's purpose was to better their lives, amongst other things I'm sure that might've played a small part in my Mother becoming a Republican, though the #1 reason was my Mother feeling the party was going to far to the left and becoming very anti-Catholic/Christian.

A lesson I learned after Obama was elected was this, Hope is not something another person can give you, Hope is something that each of us has inside ourselves and it's up to US to bring it out, something that Democrats just don't get, Democrats rely on others to better their lives whereas Republicans believe in relying on oneself. I'll take the Republican mindset any day over the Democratic mindset, the Democratic mindset is to make 1 feel down about themselves and their lives, they need people to feel like that because that's how they become powerful, they don't give a freaking hoot about the working man, anything they do that you perceive as good is done for self-serving reasons on their part.

DUmmie FUnnies is the best. PJ and Charles make it look easy, but it isn't easy by any stretch of the imagination. And they provide this enormous entertainment for free.
