Operation Iraqi Freedom
« on: September 01, 2010, 12:14:12 AM »
WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama is declaring Operation Iraqi Freedom to be over with the end of the U.S. combat mission, and says it's now time "to turn the page" to give the Iraqi people full responsibility for their own security.

In excerpts of his prime-time address to the nation, Obama says that the U.S. has paid what he calls "a huge price" for the war that he once strongly opposed and that began with President George W. Bush's March 2003 invasion.

The excerpts were released by the White House on Tuesday evening ahead of the speech.

In the speech, Obama says, "Tonight I am announcing that the American combat mission in Iraq has ended."

I guess we need to redraw the maps to reflect Iran's new size and shape.

This shows just how ignorant this President is. Now, whatever happens in Iraq is his baby, he owns it.
Just like Jimmy Carter lost Iran, BHO is losing Iraq to Al-Sadr and his Iranian bosses. The specter of
religious civil war between the Sunni's and the Shiite's just escalated big time. Forget about the Kurds,
Turkey will make sure of that.

Momma, hug your sons, because BHO set the seeds for a future war.

BHO declaration of the ending of Iraqi Freedom is the equivalent of Neville Chamberlain's "Peace in our
time" speech in 1938.

Fox was all over this last night and this morning.

Some felt he used the war in Iraq to explain why we (the US) is in so much debt, and since HE opposed the war as a Senator and before....the economy is not his fault.

It was also mentioned, that he went on TV with this, to help the dems in the Nov election.

General consensus is that it will certainly help the terrorists.... :censored:

Charles Krauthammer had several good points.

Quote
Before President Obama delivered his address tonight about the end of combat operations in Iraq, Charles Krauthammer said on Fox News that the speech would be "a mistake," adding, "You don't declare an arbitrary milestone on a fixed timetable when you have no Iraqi government and Al Qaeda is resurgent":

KRAUTHAMMER: He had one task. He has not succeeded. I'm with Michael O'Hanlon ... who says this is a mistake. You don't declare an arbitrary milestone on a fixed timetable when you have no Iraqi government and when Al Qaeda is resurgent. You do it when you have a stable government and then you have a ceremony in which the president and the new leader of Iraq have a ceremony in which the transition is declared mutually acknowledged. This is premature and political and it could be very costly.

Someone should tell this imposter that the war in Iraq was cheaper than his "stimulus" package, which did not do a single thing but further bankrupt the Country. This imposter is such a joke! Dumbo with a college degree! :censored:

Sorry, GWB already ended combat back after we took over the country. Remember DUmmies? It's when he was on the aircraft carrier and shifted the troops mission to peacekeeping.
