  • "For God & Country: Geronimo, Geronimo, Geronimo"
To borrow a phrase...It's come to this:

"They see themselves variously as "filling a gap" in Australian politics and "sticking it up" those American-style neo-cons of Australian society.

And while sober discussion of immigration, workers' rights and economic policy has thus far trumped talk of pornography and pole dancing, the misfits of the Australian Sex Party (ASP) are campaigning voraciously across the country in the lead-up to the Aug. 21 general elections."

Hey, Aussies can do what they want with their country, so I have no opinion about this whatsoever. I'm just sayin I've heard great things about the acoustics at the Sydney Opera House.  ::)

...and old hippies are leaving the U.S. at an alarming rate.

If only that were true...it wouldn't alarm me at all.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin

Oh, how I miss Australia.  Sydney, 1992.  50th anniversary of the Battle of Coral Sea, and I was there on USS Proteus (the only WWII ship still left in commission.)

Guys in their dress whites were getting (quite literally) pulled off the streets by all sorts of hawt Aussie girls.  Some not to be heard from for days.

What "American-style neo-cons" would those be exactly.. Out of the two major political parties and one moderately influential one , we've got centre-left , far-left and way-the-hell-out-there-crazy-left.

I seem to recall there's a "free marijuana" , and a "Fishing and lifestyle" party as well. T

They're irrelevant in the scheme of things.

I certainly hope you didn't take that as an insult, LC, cause I meant no offense whatsoever. I LOVE Aussies. Hell, I even go to Outback every Father's Day! :)
