Why does one thing seem so difficult for people to understand and accept?

republicans want the country to fail while we have a Democratic president. Just as I wanted the country to fail when bush was president. I wanted the same thing then that they want now. I wanted him to fail at creating jobs, I wanted him to fail at preventing terrorist attacks. I wanted bush and America at the time to fail just as they want President Obama and America to fail now. None of this is difficult to understand, it's politics. You want your opponents to fail.

First, there's a whole lot of this sort of thing:

2. No.

When they're wrong, one wants them to fail; NOT when they might be right/good. We KNEW bush+ would fail.

3. I want republicans to fail when their ideas/policies are BS, hurt people, and the country.

If you want the country to fail because of who is in power, well I don't even want to know you.

6. You are a minority. The betrayal was worse, because we had hoped he'd do okay.

There's something wrong with folk who wish ill on innocent others.

8. You wanted people to die because of your hatred of Bush?

Terrorist attacks? Really?

THAT I do not understand, nor accept.

10. I didn't want the country to fail when Stupid was president

In fact, I was fervently hoping what he did to Texas wasn't what he was going to do to the country, that he'd manage to be a pleasant surprise.

No one on the left ever wants this country to fail. What we do want is for people to wake up to what the right wing has done to it for the past 40 years. Sometimes, it means realizing some of our greatest allies are the worst the right has to offer, people who are so over the top terrible that they start waking people up.

8 years of Stupid in the White House partially accomplished that.

I'm sorry you wanted this country to fail. Perhaps you need to re examine that attitude and what it would do to you if it did.

11. Nope.

I never wanted the country to fail ---- ever, no matter who is at the helm.

That is complete and utter idiocy.

12. Well congrats. Bush DID fail and now an estimated 20% of the country is un/under employed, we are embroiled in 2 wars and the uber wealthy don't have to worry about estate taxes while we have veterans living under bridges.

14. Speaking for myself and everyone I know...not at all. I think you'll find yourself nearly alone in this...or nearly alone.

OP doesn't sound like sarcasm. Doesn't sound like DU. Doesn't sound like democrats at all. Sounds exactly like tea partiers, Limbaugh's ditto heads, RNC leaders, and the like.

Re-reading: gotta be sarcasm or deliberate baiting for this kind of talk that we aren't RW nuts. If not, take a look in the mirror.

24. I didn't want Bush to fail at doing the right things.

I wanted him to create jobs, but he only created a few million while Clinton created 22 million. And I didn't want Bush to fail at terrorist attacks (again). I didn't want to give that corrupt war monger another reason to strip us of our rights and start another useless war. I certainly didn't want our soldiers to be failed although they were deliberately sacrificed by Bush and his war machine, even sending our soldiers without body armor or even adequate armed vehicles. All I wanted under Bush was for him to act like a human being instead of a corporate whore.

I didn't have to wish him to fail. I knew everything he did would end in failure, just like his entire life of failure.

But most of the campfire's like this:

But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

I don't want the Country to fail, I want it to succeed, but it's impossible with the Democrats in charge, their idea of success is the number of people dependent on Government, whereas the Conservatives idea of success is how few people are dependent on the Government. Seriously, what's so hard to understand about that?

One might as well try to explain nuclear physics to a rock, as to explain common sense to a primitive.

What dummies can't grasp is if Obama and the gang succeed then America will fail. If they fail then America may survive. If Obama was implementing policies that worked I would be happy and wouldn't even mind if he got a second term.

Off topic a bit has anyone here ever heard one speech where obama did not blame the republicans for the mess we have now? I have racked my brain and can not think of one occasion where he didn't blame the GOP.
I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.
