LAS VEGAS, Nevada (AFP) – US President Barack Obama said Friday his policies had pulled America out of the most vicious economic dive since the 1930s, setting battle lines for mid-term elections in November.

Obama put the Republicans on notice he will vigorously defend his record, despite the fact many Americans do not yet feel the recovery he is touting, while economic data hints that the rebound may be slowing

Considering the quality of his economic planning and forecasting so far, it will be damned near a miracle if this statement doesn't come back to bite him in the ass.

If/when the economy starts really turning down again, this quote needs to be everywhere.  90 banks have been closed by the FDIC this year, unemployment is still high, over 16% according to the U6 numbers, being are being foreclosed on daily, and most people are still hurting economically, and Obama has the gall to say that he beat the downturn.

Once again, Obama is making a claim that can never be substantiated - that things would be worse without him - and once again, the media is letting him off the hook.

Until unemployment is less than it was when Obama became president, Obama has failed at correcting it. Period.

I heard Obama reading his teleprompter the other day proclaiming "Things must change!  This has to end!"

For all he's done, you might as well stand in front of a hurricane and make the same demands.  This guy is out of his league and has no idea what he's doing.
