Seeing as how I have lived in the deep south all of my life, I am fully aware of how hot it gets. However, it isn't usually this hot in June.

Not here either.... we're having late July and August weather.
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Save the Earth... it's the only planet with chocolate.

That's what we're getting over here in E TN. Sunday it was 96, broke a record.

We were spoiled last summer, we only had a couple of days that it hit 90.....for the last couple of weeks, we are hitting 90 everyday.

Ah well, this too, shall pass......in the meantime, I'll just sit here and "glow" like a proper South'n Lady.... :-)
Well I'm glowing like a friggin lightenin' bug!!!  :lmao:

Yes, I am hoping we are getting the worst out of the way. I delivered my baby girl in the middle of September almost 2 years ago. So being big pregnant this time of year was no fun at all, but this is WAY worse than that. The heat is unbelievable for this time of year. Maybe it is because we had such a tough winter (for the south that is). I enjoyed the winter. Where I live, we are lucky to see a dusting of snow. We had some pretty good snow at least 3 different times. That is unheard of around these parts. So, I guess you take the good with the bad, even though some thought the snow was bad. Not me! I am a kid at heart. I loved the snow days, and I played in it big time! I usually love the summer days. Not this year.

We had a tough winter for us too....it seemed like we went from winter to summer with just about 10 days of spring.

I lived in Durham NC when I was pregnant with my youngest and his birthday is mid-September, too. I would put my daughter down for her nap, then trundle out to her little kiddie pool on the deck and lay in it....like a damn beached whale!!! I would go to the grocery store at 10-11 o'clock at night, because I was so miserable in the heat and the humidity.  :bawl:

My first was born in April....it was great, my body was pretty much back to normal by 6 week checkup, just in time for summer.

I was really happy the second was a boy....otherwise I might have been lookin' for a surrogate. I hated being pregnant.

Our son's 8th grade graduation is tonight -- luckily it's in the gym w/ AC since it's supposed to get to 95 degrees today . . .

What is this "humidity" people speak of? What is a dehumidifier"?

Yeah, you laugh.  I thought the same thing when I first moved here--hey, it's New Hampshire, not Georgia!  Then the humidity in my basement hit and STAYED around 85 percent and stuff started mildewing.

Trip to Wally World and $200 later, problem solved.

It's been 90+ every day since Sunday, with humidity in the "Suffocation" range on my meter.

It's the kind of misery when any move outdoors, no matter how slight, prompts massive sweating. Even the dog that revels in heat minimizes her time outdoors.

It's frickin' brutal.

What the hell did we do before A/C besides suffer?   :p

Same over here in Kansas City Euph.......96 today, with 88% humidity......been going on for two weeks now, occasionally interrupted by thundershowers, which just make the humidity worse.

Cold front is due to pass through this afternoon, giving us one day of highs in the mid 80's, then back to 90's.......

Bah.....
