lol Mom? Is that you?
I admit many of my family members are somewhat perplexed at my political views. My brother considers himself an independent, but I don't really know why. He would never vote any way but republican. I have always considered myself left of center. Not far left, but left nonetheless.
Conservatives aren't monolithic. We all share a reverence for life and I don't know any conservative (note: I didn't say Republican) who isn't pro-life. But I know plenty who are agnostic or atheist so the stereotype of Bible-thumping mind-numbed robots is a myth. But I'm probably more libertarian about gay marriage than most people around here.
I used to be very liberal and disgustingly feminist. I thought that made me stronger but I finally figured out it just made me angrier because the whole feminist ideology is based on victimhood. That's why I love this election season...so many strong conservative women and not an angry, resentful pro abortion woman among them. My reasoning skills (learned, ironically, through my liberal arts education) finally turned me to the dark side. I'm more of a Sith anyway...Jedi are too wimpy sometimes.
