It's 110 in Las Vegas.

We definitely could use some of your storms.

I'd take the heat over a storm any day.

In Rochester, a lighting strike at a residence on Jefferson Avenue caused a small fire in the home's basement electrical panel. Fire Lt. Don McCullough said there was little damage and smoke was cleared from the basement.

What fun.!!!   I do hope the sitcom will be along the lines of the 1980's Santa Barbara.    This was the funniest sitcom day time show I have yet to see.

We got about 1.5 inches, all told.  Most of it was between 2 and 4 this afternoon.  Guess I won't have to water my lawn for a couple of weeks.

We got over an inch.  Needed all of it, too.

All we got in South Jersey was alot of wind and about 25 raindrops -- boo!  The temps dropped a bunch though and the humidity left.  We did, however, have an uninvited "guest" drop in.  Somehow a bat made it's way into our screened-in porch over the weekend and had the cat going crazy Sunday evening.  I brought the cat inside and let my husband and son chase the bat out the porch door . . . I can't handle bats!  :ohnoes:

We've had bats in the house over the years and I'm usually the one laying on the floor, face down, with my arms crossed over my head and screaming . . . :-)

Arrrrr, we have allot of bats, fruit bats in our area.  Interesting critters.

One night while working in a nursing home that was an old home restored to care for the aged, a few bats for some reason decided to explore all 3 floors of the home.  Never seen a bat inside anywhere but none of us on duty had either.

We found out more then we need to know about bats that night.  We closed all doors to the patients rooms, we found that the bat can dislocate their body's to get under a 1/2 inch between the floor and the bottom of the door.     They could roll themselves up into a compact mass and hang out on the top of door frames resembling a big dust ball.

My BAT, flew into the screen of an open window, I just closed the window and the next day maintenance somehow captured the bat and placed them in a jar of formaldehyde as a souvenir for me.

I kept my Bat for 25 years in that jar, really weird, the Bat unfurled itself and one could see the fangs and the sex of the Bat, it was a boy Bat.

We BUY Bat houses here to draw in bats to controll the bugs, a plain Bat house and pole to place it on goes for about $45.00--- a big waste of money most of the time.   One to hopefully draw in bats has to put out some money to buy one that has  Bat Guano smeared inside.

IF OUR BATS WERE NOT THERE, I DO NOT THINK WE COULD ACTUALLY SIT OUTSIDE IN WARM WEATHER WITHOUT BEING DRAINED OF BLOOD BY MOSQUITOES.

In our marsh land there are hundreds of Bat houses to controll the insects
other wise the diseases from these insects would wipe us out.  I just question who in State Government is in charge of these critters.

So you find a bat in your home, just ignore it and turn on the AC. Think of the Bat as you would if a parakeet has gotten loose.  Make sure there is an escape route so the Bat can get out of your house.

You killed a bat just to have it in a jar?? That's just plain inconsiderate.

So, better then keeping my face in a jar, by the door, who is it for.
