HAMPTON, Virginia — US President Barack Obama lamented Sunday that in the iPad and Xbox era, information had become a diversion that was imposing new strains on democracy, in his latest critique of modern media.

Obama, who often chides journalists and cable news outlets for obsessing with political horse race coverage rather than serious issues, told a class of graduating university students that education was the key to progress.

"You're coming of age in a 24/7 media environment that bombards us with all kinds of content and exposes us to all kinds of arguments, some of which don't always rank all that high on the truth meter," Obama said at Hampton University, Virginia.

"With iPods and iPads and Xboxes and PlayStations, -- none of which I know how to work -- information becomes a distraction, a diversion, a form of entertainment, rather than a tool of empowerment, rather than the means of emancipation," Obama said.

He bemoaned the fact that "some of the craziest claims can quickly claim traction," in the clamor of certain blogs and talk radio outlets

“Look, we’re led by a man that either is not tough, not smart, or he’s got something else in mind,”  Donald J.Trump. 6/13/16

Those kids today are too busy playing games and crap to be convinced to join OFA, which is taking ACORN's place.

Yes that is correct. You know he gets his Sunday Church Service Quotes over his crackberry. I read that some time ago.. Such a pile! IMO!

They are a diversion from organizing the O-bagger cult.

It wasn't long ago he was releasing a list of his favorite IPod music.

Well Obama also said in this speech
Quote
Obama, who uses the handful of Commencement addresses that he delivers each year to meditate on societal developments broader than the minutiae of everyday politics, warned the world was at a moment of "breathtaking change." I did not like the sound of this!

So, now Obama is attempting to remake himself from being current and connected with youth and their trends to an old, Curmudgeonly Luddite..

Who does he think this maneuver is going to impress ?

They called him the Blackberry President. They had someone tweetering as him, they had him as the most "with it" President evah. He even gave the Queen an IPod and released the music he listened to as his IPod playlist.

But now he doesn't know how to use it.

right.

He should be thanking those "diversions".  It's the only thing that got him elected.

Keep 'em dumb and docile and collect their votes every four years.
This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.

Maybe he should write some of his lies so he will know what to say :rotf:
