Sheriff Joe installs pedal powered TV for inmates

Inmates will pedal on a bike that generates 12 volts, enough electrical current to power a 19-inch tube television at the Tent City television viewing area. One hour of pedaling equals one hour of television watching.

Typically, inmates are only allowed to watch the Weather Channel, Food Network, and C-SPAN, but with the new program they will be allowed to watch any local channel.

I'm sure he wouldn't mind if your county "manned up" and borrowed his approach to recidivism, but unless you've got a desert in the Carolinas I never heard of, Sheriff Joe wouldn't last long east of the Mississippi river.  :-)

I really wish Clark County had Sheriff Joe.  :(

I miss him.  When we were packing our stuff to go from Phoenix to Las Vegas, I asked my hubby if we could take Sheriff Joe with us.
