Pictures from Searchlight
« on: March 28, 2010, 04:17:47 PM »
I don't have many since we had to leave early, but these are the ones I do have.  And yes, CNN was right.  There were only a dozen of us there.

There was an eight mile back up outside of Searchlight at 10:30am.

A "gang" of motorcycles was there too.  I'm surprised MSM isn't reporting that Hells Angels was there.

Not a good picture, but everyone had to start parking along the highway.  We had to park two miles outside of town.

This guy doesn't know the difference between "lose" and "loose".

Walking into town, towards the stage.

Racist....

Sounds good to me.

A shot of the area.

Skywriters!  If that's what they are called.  There were about four airplanes writing messages for Reid in the sky.

Again, I apologize for not getting more pictures.  Our daughter chose yesterday, of all days, to not feel well and refuse to eat.  :(

I was quite surprised to see a story about the event in my local paper today.

Really?  Where are you from?

There were people from Texas, Montana, Utah, Washington, New Mexico, and California that came to this event.  It was HUGE!

Midwest.  I know it was a big deal, I was just surprised that it got any coverage at all.

I think most serious estimates have placed it at 7-10,000.  That is a big crowd to draw to some little town in the middle of nowhere.  I doubt that Harry Reid could draw that kind of crowd in his hometown.

The only crowd Harry Reid could draw would be ones carrying pitchforks.

Harry Reid was in Nevada yesterday.  He was just too scared to show up in Searchlight.  We walked past two Reid supporter's yesterday.

Supposedly, some Reid supporters threw eggs at some of the buses taking people to the site.

I am sure most of those people were on their way to Las Vegas to bet on NCAA basketball or just to spend Saturday night there. There are two ways to get to Vegas from the South, either through the Hoover Dam, which has traffic backed up for miles due to security checks, or through Searchlight. That is pretty slick of the teabaggers to pick a spot where so many cars come through on a Saturday and take credit for attendance. Republicans are only still in business because their voters are too stupid to know things like this.

Yep...all those "dozens" were stuck behind the miles of backup going through Hoover Dam...

Uh, and Vinny?  MILES of backup at Hoover Dam?  Last time I took 93 from Kingman to get to Vegas, the checkpoint took all of about 10 minutes to get through.  Of course, once the bypass bridge is built, you won't have that silly little problem, now will you?  And seriously, would ANYONE with the IQ over dirt go all the way to Bullhead City, cross over those shitty state roads to 95, THEN go up?  I think not, dear troll.

Searchlight Shines Light on Wayward WashingtonShare
 Today at 6:22pm
Thank you, Tea Party Americans! A big thumbs up to the attendees, organizers and volunteers at yesterday’s inspiring Tea Party Express rally in Searchlight, Nevada. Take a look at these aerial photos from yesterday. What an amazing sight to see thousands and thousands of Americans show up in the middle of the desert to freely assemble and have their voices heard. In Harry Reid’s hometown (while he may have been doing a victory lap over the passage of Obamacare), more than 10,000 concerned citizens rallied to tell him and Speaker Pelosi that we’re ready for November.

We’re ready for a fundamental transformation of Washington – no need for their desired “fundamental transformation of America.”

The Tea Party Express rolls on... can’t wait to see you all in Boston on April 14th!

Haha, yeah, I saw your response to your guy.  When we lived in Phoenix, we never went through Kingman to Las Vegas.  We drove right through the Hoover Dam.  We only ran into a backup at the Hoover Dam on 4th of July weekend.  Other then that, it took a few minutes and we were out of that checkpoint.

You didn't?  I thought that's where you had to exit I-40 to get on 93...

Oh wait, I mistyped.  Yes, we had to go through Kingman.  I meant to say, exit at Kingman to avoid the Hoover Dam.  My apologies!
