I'm sorry, but if you are against this HCR Bill, you really are against HCR in our lifetime   Updated at 12:21 PM

The reality is, if this bill dies, so does any possibility of reform in our lifetime. That is a reality. And according to many independent policy analysts, if we don't enact HCR today, by 2020, premiums will more than double and so will the number of uninsured in this country. Only the wealthy will be able to get medical care because programs like Medicaid will become unsustainable.

If you are still in favor of killing the bill, you are in favor of killing HCR altogether. Again, this is the reality of it.

This primitive finally understands just what Obama is doing here. He grasps the concept that single payer is not an overnight process and will take several years and bills to be in place. Us conservatives understood this from the start and this was one of many reasons we oppose this. I just hope the Dems don't figure this out like the star trek doctor primitive has. If they do we are doomed.

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

Yes, we are against "healthcare reform" as defined by barry, nancy, harry and the rest of you communist ba$tards.

Let's bring down costs via MAJOR tort reform, the elimination of mandates, increased competition, etc.

Oh well it was a great country while it lasted.
Ronald Reagan once said something to the effect, "if we lose freedom here, there is no place to escape to."

Remember this:

They are voting on the bill minus the ponies -- this basically means there will be four years of taxation without any product. As soon as the Dems lose Congress (and they will ) the Republicans can totally rewrite the bill or discard it -- And people will support it because nobody is getting crap for their money.

And the language about any future congress being unable to repeal it is bogus. No congress can bind future congresses to anything. The only thing that it binds is the congress that votes for it.

The GOP will not have a 2/3rds majority needed to override a veto.

Plus they won't have the gonads to try after the media gives Obama sainthood should this pass. Imagine ticker tape parades, special classes in schools to paise ObamaCare, TV documentaries galore. Its going to be made into their 2010 campaign. This IS their campaign.

I figure 4 years from now there will be so many ponies in this no politician will have the guts to even let the word repeal cross his mind. Nancy Pelosi herself has said this is just the beginning.

Not if they lose congress this November...

The Dems now have a filibuster in the Senate to deal with- as long as the Republicans hang tight, there will be nothing added.

Although I do expect some sort of rule mangling to attempt a simple majority vote - which is fine.. It will help get more Senators and Congressmen removed.

You are going to see a campaign by the MSM like you have never seen before if this passes, they will give Obama sainthood.

The Democrats might actually gain seats. Too early to tell.

Unless unemployment dramatically shrinks between now and then, I suspect a bloodbath.

According to the current RCP average about 76% of people disapprove of congress, while only 20% support.  Also, polls as of late have been clear on asking if people also want their own congress critter removed, and a majority say yes.

Most of the time people say 'throw the bums out, except for my congress person' -- and that is no more.

I am annoyed by healthcare - I live in Massachusetts, and know first hand where this is going. -- According to former Democrat treasurer Tim Cahill (he is running against Deval Patric for Gov. as an independent) he says quite plainly that The Massachusetts system (which the Senate plan is a clone of) would have already bankrupted the commonwealth if it weren't for federal subsidies keeping Mass. afloat. -- and as treasurer, he would know.

I also suspect that once its passed, the media will finally look at Massachusetts as a crystal ball of sorts and report what is going to happen- Some as a warning to whats coming, and others to Blame Republicans for not adding ponies to the bill - but the news will spread.

Before the election the MSM will annouce a huge drop in unemployment numbers and it will be celebrated. The "healthscare deform" victory will help them too, because the MSM will make it the greatest thing since V-Day.

The Dems could actually win in Nov.

What they won't mention is the decrease was due to people giving up on job hunting. Just like they did last month.

I think that either the bookies on London, or Vegas, should put the over/under of Dem losses in November at 11/115 as in 11 Senate seats and 115 House seats.  And I'm taking the over--and half-seriously considering getting a five-digit loan to play the odds.  I only bet on one day of the year (Opening Day of Saratoga Race Course in late July), so I'm not a betting man.  But, that's how sure I think the Dems will get their asses kicked.  When Doug Schoen and Pat Caddell, pollsters who worked for Presidents Clinton and Carter (respectively) are saying that, it's a warning that needs to be heeded--and it's not being heeded.

What they announce won't matter - if everyone continues to be un/underemployed  - all the convincing by the MSM in the world won't change it.

It's going to be difficult to sanctify him if this plunges the fragile economy over a fresh cliff, which it may or may not do.  I am interested in seeing how the markets take it over the next couple of weeks as they digest just wht the Hell the consequences are going to be.
