Back in early 1993, the now-alas-extinct Spy magazine had an article about the behavior of Rahm Emanuel.
Among it was a description of Emanuel riding in the inaugural parade of Bill and Hillary.
He had a bigger, longer, more expensive limousine than the presidential pair.
Frank, pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.
For Emanuel, there has to be someone pulling his strings.
This becomes a circle of power, no one I can think of is so powerful as to be the worlds top honcho.
The more power one gets the more restrictions placed on them. Clinton could not get Monica a job washing floors in the Capital, had no power to stop being outed by one lone woman, his Mistresses best friend.
Power is alike a ladder to ones dreams. Everyone regardless of education or temperament needs some kind of power.
Some of us are content to climb a few rungs and hang on for dear life. From the street people that live under bridges and demand the right to live as they wish, to the CEO's of huge corporations that are willing to reach out and pull off those on the next rung so they can climb into their rung.
In some cases the old adapt or die is a form of control, survival, and get as close to our dreams as possible.
Don't forget , there is a world of people out there that are are on the bottom rungs and few at the top. When the multitudes of people all try to climb that ladder, fighting, scratching and knocking off the ladder those above them, the ladder will itself collaps and every one falls down.
