DUmmies Love Free Stuff
« on: February 05, 2010, 07:32:41 PM »
DUmmies prove that people still love free stuff. The same crowd would have shown up at the height of the Dubya prosperity;

1,400 People show up for free dental clinic in Tulsa today.
Free dental care is being offered to ANYONE in the city of Tulsa today. By early afternoon, it was estimated that over 1,400 people had shown up. The goal was to treat 1,600 patients during the two day (Friday-Saturday) clinic.

90 chairs are available, and everything from cleaning to root canals is being done.

On the news this morning, they said the first patient had been waiting in line since Wednesday morning to see a dentist. It makes me feel good to know that even here in the heart of Red country, there are still people who care about others.

Does anyone think any of these people would have stayed home if it had been free fishing rods, or free socket wrenches that were being given away?

2. I'm retired also----with dental coverage. I had two teeth that were
getting loose so my dentisr recommended having them extracted and sent me to a DDS.
I did have them out----at $190.00 per tooth, which the insurance didn't cover. The entire procedure took less than 20 minutes.

Next time I'll let them fall out on their own. (My bone is deteriorating)

There's a 99.87% chance that this is a total scam:

12. I had the same problem. Checked online and found a product
called OramPlus. Please note: This is the one that works. I started brushing my teeth with this and within a month and a half, no more loose teeth and my whole mouth is healthier. I have it shipped once a month and cannot do without it. The taste is a little different, but after about a week, I was fine with the taste and loved the results. The longer you use it, the better your teeth get. I'm sure it won't replace lost bone, but it will strengthen your teeth and I'm talking about lose teeth. I still need a root canal and a new cap; but the OramPlus has kept the infection in that tooth under control also.

I do not work for this company and get absolutely nothing for any referral. This all natural medicine is made from about eight different herbs, like peppermint, which is antibacterial, etc. All I can say is it was a lifesaver for me.
The monthly cost is 37 dollars and I got free shipping at the time I purchased the once a month deal.

Good luck.

3. Hell, that would have been almost worth the drive from Central Nebraska
I need all kinds of work, and have no insurance

No need to drive to Oklahoma from central Nebraska. There's a guy just a little way north, on the roof of Nebraska, the edge of the Sandhills, who would take out those pesky teeth at a bargain price, and then use the same tool to fix a leaky faucet.

5. Dental care is free on the NHS, actually.
The stereotype about 'British teeth'? Generally wrong; cosmetic dentistry and orthodontics are a good deal less common in the UK than in the US, but I saw more people with noticeable bad teeth in the US than I have here.

Absolutely a lie. You see many well-dressed young women in the U.K., and especially in Japan, whose teeth are so horrendous they cannot easily close their mouths. They all have access to free public dentistry.

Actually, the primitive from central Nebraska (Kearney, I believe she alleges to be) has had ample opportunity for free dental work right here in this state.

That sort of thing the dentists did down in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is the same sort of thing dentists in Nebraska do, several times a year, several different locations, with circa a thousand people showing up at each event.

However, if one needs dental work, one shouldn't put it off.

I suspect the primitive from central Nebraska puts it off because she doesn't want to pay for it.  One's teeth are more important than one's internet connection.

Kind of like those free neuter and spay clinics?

Kind of like those free neuter and spay clinics?

The closest thing we have to that in Nebraska is the final week of some month (I think in fact this month, February), all veterinarians in the state neuter and spay pets for a token fee, usually circa five bucks.

This free dental service, which has been around for a while, moves from place-to-place within the state, and uses dental talent from the immediate area.  Most are one-day affairs, but in bigger places, two-day affairs.

Despite great population disparities (i.e., the panhandle as compared with Omaha), every corner of the state gets covered, no matter how remote.

No taxpayer funds are used.

From what I read good dentistry is hard to find in the UK.

Yes, meth is hard on teeth.

Just like DUm is hard on minds.
