I see three problems with this:

If Obama had advisers that had the fortitude to recommend this action (which he doesn't), he doesn't have the sack to actually pull the trigger.......

He would immediately lose his far-left base.......they'd run home to Ralph Nader (or his ilk)

The voters that would approve of this action are not going to vote for him, or his party anyway........

In short at least for the messiah, there is really no gain, and we already know that everything is about HIM.....and not the nation or its security.......such an action might give the congressional Dems some breathing room for the November elections, as the general mood in the country is shaping up to be that Democrats couldn't defend the country from a pack of Cub Scouts, but that would be about all.....
