LIBERAL COGNITIVE DISSONANCE DISORDER (LCDD)

Liberal Cognitive Dissonance Disorder (LCDD)http://www.drivetimehappyhour.com/?p=1370

This Monday, I wrote about the alarming lack of seriousness shown by our Federal government towards the worldwide movement of radical Islam. A movement which long ago declared war on the West, and the Unite States in particular. A movement which has executed unprovoked attacks on America, our citizens and our interests throughout the world. Attacks intended to murder and maim as many innocent civilians as possible.

The prevailing motivation behind this movement and it’s leaders is the advancement of their ideology. The movement did not organize itself as a response to America or to American provocation. The ideology is based on brutal misogyny and tyranny. It’s adherents desire theocratic rule imposed by a small, iron fisted group of self-selected leaders. It is an ideology devoid of compromise, disdainful of the notion of self evident, God given rights and intent on using murder and terror as it’s primary means of advancing itself.

These facts are clear to anyone who has taken the time to investigate them. All it takes is a little examination of their leader’s speeches and writing. Yet, individuals at the highest levels of our Federal Government continue to misrepresent and misinterpret what the Global Islamofascist movement is about. This Wednesday, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton attempted to pass off the old canard, that “the acts of violent extremists” are rooted in a lack of education and circumstances of extreme poverty. She made this claim despite the fact that many of the world’s most notorious Islamic terrorists are wealthy and well educated, oftentimes in prominent Western institutions.

What does it say about us as a culture and a country that our chief diplomat wastes valuable time standing in front of a microphone, in a vain attempt to psychoanalyze the “root causes of terror”? The root causes of terror are terrorists and their facilitators. Terrorists commit acts of terror in order to advance the world view of their death obsessed cult.

Every time Congressman Ron Paul foolishly asserts that terrorists act in response to “America occupying their lands”, despite the fact that the crotch bomber was a Nigerian traveling out of Yemen, two countries not currently “occupied”, the Islamofascist’s propaganda machine is fueled. Each deadline ignored by Iranian theocrats, each National security secret published by The New York Times and each enemy combatant afforded our constitutional rights, strikes a blow to our fight against these self identified murderers.

When we broadcast to the world that we will not exploit our own natural resources, but we are perfectly willing to purchase them from nations hostile to our own, we are essentially agreeing to fund the cause of the Global Islamofascist movement. When our leaders make the unilateral decision to treat foreign, enemy combatants as common criminals, we are inviting them to hit us again. When we treat acts of war as criminal offenses, it makes it far more difficult to stop them before they happen. We are acting on defense instead of on offense. When KSM, the “mastermind of 9/11” is granted a show trial without any constitutional basis and the crotch bomber is read Miranda rights, our beleaguered gathering of intelligence is further weakened.

We are told ad nauseum that Gitmo, or the Iraq war or “torture” invite more acts of terror against us, but I can see no behavior on our part that invites more acts of terror than our national leaders’ refusal to take the Global Islamofascist movement seriously.
