The premise of this goofball thread is that DUmmy Husb2Sparkly is president. If that were the case, you would expect him to have some really stupid ideas. He does. This one is to impose confiscatory taxes on anyone trying to be productive:

If I were president, one of the first things I would do is work to raise taxes. A lot.
Like 90% on top incomes and work down proportionally from there, but with zero taxes for people earning twice the poverty rate (or some other multiple).

Nonetheless, DUmmy grasswire wants crushing taxes on people who do work:

2. I don't think a model like that would work for long
All the rich people would move to another country and then the burden on the poor/middle class would be much more.
No they would not. They would just find a way to avoid paying that rate. They're smart. That's why they're rich and you're a DUmmy in a single wide.

11. horsehockey. other countries would follow suit and raise taxes as well.
we're hardly the only country running a big deficit these days.
besides, america's pretty good at taxing your money wherever you are.

4. How are you going to get Congress to vote for that?
But DUmmy Husb2Sparkly has already thought that problem through:

8. I would do that 90% top rate, but
I would include targeted tax breaks if they invest in new businesses, or something similar to stimulate our national economy in exchange for any reduction from that 90% rate.
The current low rates have no incentives to force them to invest here in the US, and in fact it actually encourages offshore investments to take advantage of currency exchange rates.
The wealthy back in the 50's didnt pay the top rate, there were incentives to build our manufacturing base, which in turn led to our greatest period of wage gains our country ever had.
But wait a minute! If President Husb2Sparkly is going to confiscate everything I make above X dollars, what is my incentive to make X plus Y dollars, and then reinvest Y dollars? I will just lay off DUmmies until my company makes X dollars for me, and not work so hard to make more. Why make profit if you're going to take it from me, or force me to leave it in the business? Those laid off DUmmies won't be feeding any money to President DUmmy, will they? DUmbasses just cannot understand how a reduction in tax rates can lead to increased tax revenue, no matter how many times it has been proven in real life. DUmmies live in a zero sum world.

12. The 90% part that people do not get is... They are totally, stupidly blind.
That it FORCES the rich to reinvest earnings back into their business, new businesses, their community, etc. etc. Just because they are not going to want to pay a 90% tax bill, they would reinvest back into the economy and America, instead of just socking it away in banks, which does nothing to improve the economy.
And, uh, I forget. What is it banks do with that money? Oh, yeah, they like put it in big bags with a dollar sign on them, and store the bags in these big vault things. And every now and then, these rich guys like go to the bank and look at all their money stuffed into all these bags. And stuff.
