What should I mix with my coffee?
« on: November 21, 2009, 12:25:04 PM »
Like an idiot, I'm going to play golf in the mid-upper 40's weather.  I have a big thermos of coffee, but I have no Bailey's.  What liquor would work best?  Vodka, Rum, something else....I normally have Bailey's & Kahlua on hand, I just don't right now...

Help please!

Baileys has whiskey in it.  I've mixed whiskey in my coffee a few times... it's not bad.

Good call, didn't think of that...

Of course I know some people that will mix just about anything... :-)

Southern Comfort isn't bad.  My dad used to let me have a cup like that when I had to wait for the bus in the winter.

A bottle of Southern Comfort is in the dictionary under 'rotgut'.  If you're going to drink SC, you might as well drink whiskey with shots of maple syrup chasers.

Crown Royal is kinda nasty, too.

For a 16 year old kid, it made coffee tolerable.

Try peppermint or any flavor of Schnapps's. It works great with Hot Chocolate.

Another vote for Jack here.  Tried and tested.

I think SoCo is disgusting now.  I must have had too much in college.  Used to be a popular flask to sneak into our college football games.  We needed to drink to watch them then...now, not so much.

I had a bottle of Yukon Jack that I poured into a flask for this afternoon.  I didn't imbibe as much as my cart partner (25 year old who likes to get his buzz on).

Thanks for all the advice...I had to do some banking online earlier when I realized my "liquor conundrum"...and figured if anyone could give me some help, it would be my favorite sex & booze crowd. :evillaugh: :cheersmate:

A friend of mine that drinks coffee...adds Drambuie in his.

Amaretto (almond) or Frangelica (hazelnut) should work too....I don't drink coffee but they work in hot chocolate.  :-)
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Yum, I used to stock those, but my liquor cabinet tends to get a little bare until Christmas time.

If this isn't a shoutout for an early Christmas gift, I don't know what is!

Stuff tends to last a long time in ours.....other half hasn't had a drink in 3.5 years....and I rarely drink at home unless we have company. It's just something I don't need to do....for my own mental health...

Since I live right next to the golf course where I play, I keep a good stock of vodka, rum & whiskey, and of course, beer.  Not that it is legal to take it on the course, but anyway.  I have some of the more specialized stuff around, but apparently that has been taken care of in recent months.  I need to stop having parties. :lmao:

On the rare occasion that my mom has a drink, she likes Crown on the rocks. I have no idea where she acquired such a taste.

That Woodford Reserve Bourbon is pretty good. I have been slowly whittling one down myself for the past few months.

That's what my runnin' buddy's husband drinks.....I've known him for about 17 years and that's what he usually drinks.

Her son and my son will both drink it mixed with Coke.....they are young and will probably drink most anything they don't have to pay for..... :uhsure:

+1, damn fine Bourbon.   :cheersmate:
