Was capitalism in America always like this -- governed purely by shareholder greed?

That's a good question. When did publicly-traded corporations start giving priority to capital appreciation? Old time capitalism was more interested in social engineering than profit. Wasn't it? The power and prosperity of the free world was built on altruism. Wasn't it?

It was Reagan!

3. I wonder if EA investors think that software writes itself?
Maybe they can just outsource it all and make the stock go up another point or two.

4. No, They Think
Software writers are over-paid hamburger flippers, is about what it comes to.

Well.....it seems to be working pretty well for EA.

Keeping in mind that the primitives definition of "shareholder greed" is anytime someone invests money in a company hoping that the value of the stock will increase and they will make money, the answer is an overwhelming "YES!!"

As you said, Republicans, President Reagan in particular, invented greed. Before that it was all togas and rainbows.

Yesterday, watching the celebrations in Berlin, it struck me that as much as we received from President Reagan, those people were given even more. Arguably the greatest man of the twentieth century, most certainly the greatest of my lifetime.

As far as I can tell the only two things that DUchebags know anything about re; how to freeload and where the nearest abortion clinic is.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.
