Forum Acting Weird
« on: November 01, 2009, 02:39:17 PM »
Is it me or is the forum acting all funky today? I can't access most threads, it takes forever to load and sometimes I get disconnected alltogether. None of the other sites I visit are doing this so I know it's not a problem on my end.

It only acts weird when the forum has been drinking.

Must be gremlins. Or maybe it's DingleBarry's Internet Stormtroopers messing with me. I thought those black helos circling my neighborhood this morning looked weird.

I just spanked the server and told it to behave.

Hopefully that has taken care of the issue.

I'm having a lot of trouble.

Couldn't get on earlier at all, and since I've been on the last 30 minutes or so....I get some stuff loaded, other stuff not. Just because I click on a thread, doesn't open it either.

And I'm getting kicked off, then click back arrow and can get back on...but when I get back on I'm in a different screen format.... :mental:

I'm not having trouble anywhere else....

I couldn't access the forum using Internet Explorer.  Actually, I opened IE and couldn't do anything at all.  It won't even load Google.  I deleted the Temporary Internet Files and Cookies from IE and now the problem appears to be resolved on my end.  You might need to exit and re-start IE after doing that.

I don't have any problems accessing the forum with Firefox.

Interesting, I had problems with the Quote/reply page. I quoted a paragraph and when I started typing a response the page jumped back to the top. Did it several times, ended up typing in the blind, then checking.

I've noticed some slow downs and slow page loads over the last week, however, it seems to be doing fine today.

All of that could be due to our web host, transient conditions of the internet, one's internet service provider or any combination of the aforementioned.

I just performed a search. Perhaps you need to narrow your time frame. My search involved something I posted today. The searches don't appear chronologically, but by "relevance". I don't know what criteria they use to determine "relevance".
