Their plan, which relies on interstate competition, HSAs, and tort reform, would only cost $61 billion in the first ten years of the plan — or slightly less than 6% of what Democrats plan to spend to overhaul the entire system:

Unlike the Democratic proposals, the bill would actually reduce premiums:

For the 87% of Americans who have insurance and who overwhelmingly like the system, this is a much better prescription for real cost savings, and without the heavy government intervention that threatens the liberty and economic stability of Americans.  The only people disadvantaged by this plan are those pursuing ObamaCare out of ideological animus towards the private market.

Come on, it's like your actually expecting Congress to do something that is right for America.  Where have you been for the last 4 years?

The only thing missing from the GOP health care reform is the "pre-existing conditions" mandate. They even addressed tort reform for medical lawsuits.

It won't even have a chance of getting a vote on the floor. It does not give the government more power.

If they really get a free market system like car insurance, pre-existing condidtions *could* be handled like high-risk drivers. Not apple to apples, but it might offer some flexibility.

Unfortunately, this plan involves deregulation and less gov't control, so they'll never sell it. Also, they're about 6 months late to the party... the dems will eaily prove (word chosen intentionally) that the GOP has no plan based on that alone.

I like the plan as outlined for a number of reasons, one of the biggest being that it's easy to reverse. If it doesn't work, then something else can be developed w/o much push back. Completely opposite to Pelosi's plan.
