Ha, you poor folks think there's going to be an election in 2012!

Isn't that special...

Hi,

Nothing on Beck about that, I added that.

Here is a link for you:   http://www.thefoxnation.com/glenn-beck/2009/09/22/beck-obama-his-own-words

Tonight was the scariest show yet.  He showed just what we are up against and just how well organized they are.  Wait until you see the magnetic signs he puts up next to Obama's name.

I am not so sure that we could not easily see some states secede from the union.  If you understand the Sol Alinsky playbook you create such chaos the system collapses.  Then the president declares martial law and that is where it gets ugly as they will shut down the internet (already a bill in congress) and talk radio.  The state of AZ has already passed a resolution that says in the event the president declares martial law they have the right to pull home their National Guard to protect their homeland.  Many states may follow.

If the health care bill is passed in the senate using the nuclear option and cap and trade passes I can see secession as a very real possibility.  Reason being then the government is clearly acting on their own behalf and ignoring the will of the people who hire them.

I am concerned, just hope it does not come to that,

I think you've presented a false dilemma.  I don't even think we'll get far enough for there to be a question of elections before blood will be spilled.

It's the economy, stupid*.

Putting on my seer cap, I see martial law coming to a town near you before the 2012 elections.  And then I see the good people of the U.S. saying, "martial this, dickheads."

I'm new here, but I might as well jump right in.  Gingrich is terrific, but he has baggage.  Same with Palin.  Others don't have the horsepower or the broad backing.  I really don't know if one person (or even a couple) have emerged yet.  I do know they need to appeal to the independents and conservative democrats as well as the base.  I said appeal, like Reagan, not pander.  In this climate speaking about conservative principles is gonna be the ticket (small government, personal responsibility, lower taxes, national security).  The Dems will try and turn it into another debate about abortion, climate change, war, etc., but a true leader needs to share a vision of getting back to our founding ideals and stay out of the bickering.  Not saying he/she shouldn't take a stand and be firm on details (God knows what that lack of detail has gotten us into), but you can't get bogged down in the trenches.  They gotta have a plan and speak to our hearts.  That candidate can win!!

Newt Gingrich is uber arrogant and has the charismatic traits of a toad.

Palin is charismatic but too polarizing. Moderates would do everything to sabotage her.

Unless the future ticket involves Rush Limbaugh or Karl Rove, we need a fresh face that has not popped up before.
I don't think the usual suspects can beat Obama.

If the GOP pulls another citizen McCain for 2012, we will have to suffer an additional 4 years of Obama-nation.
Whoever is the next GOP candidate I will support them, because anything is better than Obama.

Hi,

In the first year of Bush's second term Dick Morris said publically the only person who could beat Hillary according to the polls is Condelezza Rice.  Minute he said it the democrats started to amplify their smear campaign on her so she would not dare run.  Point is at that time no one really much gave any thought to Barack Obama.  He was a breath of fresh air because the public had their fill of the Clintons.

At this point I hope we are all wrong and that some strong leader steps forth, maybe Jindahl cracks open acorn in his LA investigation, or some other person steps up.  Another McCain....and I honestly feel the same way about Romney, and the election would be a lot closer than it needs to be.  A clear vision, a non commie, and someone who actually says what they mean and mean what they say will be a breath of incredible fresh air.  Might be the general who is calling for more troops in Afganistan.  If he does not get them and resigns he could indeed be a strong candidate....

The GOP needs to clean house. A surprise candidate who is the polar opposite of Barrack Obama is all the GOP needs.
If you would have told me a few years ago that Hillary Clinton would lose the primary to an interracial black man with no executive experience and has Hussein as his middle name I would have said that you are nuts.

Obama portrayed himself as a moderate to the country while at the same time assuring his hardcore base that he was very liberal.
While all that was happening we had John McCain flip flopping on the issues and attacking his own party and the incumbent president.

The moderates voted for John McCain in the primaries, while the conservatives voted for Huckabee.
You know there is something wrong with your candidate when people get more excited about their VP pick...

I'd like to see Fred Thompson as Secretary of State. There's a picture on IMAO that explains my point:

All we need is for someone with some experience in common sense and is willing to stand up and tell the American people he will try and give us back our country. That's really all we need.

Like the Obumbler though, I think whoever he/she is needs to start NOW!!! This would acomplish two things. It would give the cadidate face time, and start depleting the DimWits war chest way earlier than they thought they were going to have to. With the ACORN scandal heating up, it's a helluvan opportunity to get started.

I know it's an impossibility, as he's been too beat up, but I'd love to have the chance to vote for Rick Santorum again.

I agree, keep low-key until it counts. And then hit them in the juggular when they least expect it.

Politics is a contact sport.

The Obama team used Howard Dean tactics to win, the GOP needs Karl Rove tactics to win.
