Question about internet TV
« on: September 16, 2009, 03:50:57 PM »
How do you get it? I am scared to download anything that might f*** up my computer. We got the digital TV with an antenna but turns out, we STILL have to buy the damn converter box.  Please help the tech challenged.

That's WHY one should ALWAYS run a good anti-virus program. There are plenty for free.

I'm pretty sure that was Gibberish.  I know that hulu.com has episodes available online, and nbc.com has episodes available, but I don't know how to watch just plain tv online.  Sorry.

In re: the OP, there are many legitimate sites out there that do TV. The best thing is to have a video card that can connect to your TV and a sound card that can connect to your system. Otherwise, you are tuck watching a movie/show on your monitor. If you don't have a family, then that would be ok.

My wife subscribes to Netflix, at the cheapest "plan" they have.
What we did was to hook my computer (dual monitor outputs) to the 56' big screen in our media room, and the audio also (the TV has front panel hookups for audio and vid)
Because her Netflix account has "watch it now" we just load up what we want to watch and away we go!
In the past week I started watching Lost and we've gotton to episode 12 of season 2 (damn thing is addicting)
We don't subscribe to any Sat or Cable anymore.

Oh, DTV................................SUCKS.

Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”
