Yup.  The bodyguard was there to keep his fool ass from hurting himself.

I'm sure John's combat patch makes him anything but a pogue.
Honor Gard units are not combat units. An Honor Guard Tab does not bestow combat experience but niether does its presence diminish combat experience.

Fat Teddy was never in a combat unit let alone a combat MOS. For the DUmmies to imply his stint somehow granted him extrasensory powers to judge the validity of an given war is absurd.

Please don't read more into this than is written.

Nothing wrong with not serving, you do get points for trying though  :-)

The point is that more "freepers" have either served or wanted to serve but were denied.
Most of them libs hate the military and only brag about libs who served to try to make a point but, they fail.
Bush served honorably yet they bash him, now the clown they put in office was only slept born in a tent in Kenya.

Rather than face them on our home turf?? Interesting concept. How long do you think my post would last there? Not as long as yours have here.

PS

Freepers are cowards, they prove it every day here. And they prove it by trying to derail health care when they need it as much as anyone They are only loyal to whomever has dollar bills in their hands.

Wait, wouldn't that make us braver? After all we're willing to risk our health to fight for principles we believe in. When was the last time any of you could say that? During the Bush administration you all liked to pretend you were on the verge of being arrested simply because you posted on DU. Maybe that made you think you were risking something profound, but if you saw how people look at you (even other liberals laugh at you) you'd see the only thing you lost was your dignity.

Oh, and I don't know what serving in the military has to do with anything...so did Jack Murtha. Ask any Marine whether they think that useless sack of pus is a brother. I'd never before seen such intense loyalty, not just among Marines but among families. People I don't even know stop and talk to me when they see my "proud parent" bumper stickers...it's an automatic bond. This is pretty unique because I had the same "proud parent" bumper stickers when my oldest son was in the Coast Guard and people barely noticed. Yet, Murtha is an ex-Marine so it appears having served isn't reason enough for a life long membership. As my husband says, "It takes more than a hat and a pair of boots to make a cowboy."

But since the criteria (as usual) is "you can't talk about it if you haven't experienced it" then I assume you don't have health care or a living wage job to pay for it? Because if that's the case, you should know that I was without insurance for almost a year while my husband was unemployed. I still wouldn't support this piece of crap legislation.

No, he got to ride in one, and not while in service.  As I recall he didn't even get the TC seat.

No DUmmies I never served in the army.
I was honorably discharged after two enlistments in the Navy and I honored every bit of my contract and oath.

Can any of you state the same?

Real lethal weapon you have there Al Gore.   Notice no magazine in the weapon.

Back around 68 was when they were having lots of jamming problems with the M-16.  If he would have been caught in a firefight, he would have been in a world of hurt when he put in the mag, chambered a round, and then have it jam because of dirt and debris in the weapon.

They're still not the best thing around. The new weapons HK's working on, they got the contract, are going to be awesome. They designed the "M-8", but it was turned down.

Well lets do some family history here since the DUmp wants to pull out thiers and show how short they have come up.

Grandfather on my Mothers side. Enlisted in the Army and became a medic, was sent to france for WWI and was there all of two weeks before the Germans surrendered, His enlistment was two years long.

My Father joined at age 17 and went to war at 18. During the Battle of Kasserine Pass , My fathers unit was South of their at Faid Pass with his unit the 168th Inf Division. He and most of the 168th were captured by the Germans led by Rommel and his tanks. They only had rifles and machineguns to fight against those tanks because none of them recieve any training on how to use anti tank weapons and what they had were very few. This resulted in my father and a large number of others spending the next 3 years in a POW camp deep inside Germany. My father continued to serve for another 40 years after that in the same unit.

My oldest brother. He went to college got a degree in Architecture and then proptly joined the US Army to learn to fly helicopters. Got stationed in Chu Lai, Rep. South Vietnam. Thats south of Da Nang. He was there for a year and while there our cousins husband that flew for the Army as well in O-1 Birddogs died  after being shot down by the VC He left behind a 6 month old girl that never got to see her dad and a wife left to raise her. After Vietnam my brother stayed in served 40 years total flying Hueys and Blackhawks and went antoher go around during Desert Storm.

My older brother Dennis. He serve in the Navy after 4 years at the Naval Academy taking engenering courses. He spent 15 years active duty and became a squadron Comander for an S-3 viking unit before his posting to the Pentagon. While there 9/11 happened and he sttill served on for an additional year + after his retierment was supposed to occur .He spent 27 years in the Navy

And finally myself. I started in the same unit as my father and was there for a year and a half before I joined the Army. I served in the 101st Airborne Air Assault and then went to Italy to guard missiles, went back to the 101st and then a year in Korea. Then my last active duty post was the 10th Mountain Div. The last 15 years was back in my fathers unit and I did this all as an 11 bravo Infantry soldier, Fat Teddy can SUCK a dead guys balls in HELL before he'll ever come close to what me and my family and friends have done for our country.

Father, 3rd Marine Corp Division:

Grandfather, 31st "Dixie" Division:

....and could go back further.....a LOT further, but those bubble photos don't fit on a scanner that well.
