Getaway Thursday
« on: July 02, 2009, 06:32:29 AM »
For some, anyway.  I'm not sure if it's July 2nd in New Hampshire, or April 2nd in Seattle.  Overcast, cold, and misting, and no prospects for improvement before Sunday.

And on that note, working 8 tomorrow (and then at the poker room Friday night) and 10-12 on Saturday.

BBQ on Sunday.  Sliders, fries, and slaw or potato salad.  Many beers will die at my hand that day, I can tell you.

Sunny & 65 here this am. Should reach 90 this afternoon.  My 3 day weekend will be filled with many long-overdue chores.  Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
If you want to worship an orange pile of garbage with a reckless disregard for everything, get on down to Arbys & try our loaded curly fries.

It's a strange weekend for me. I work my normal 12 hour shift tomorrow, but the people that work a normal week will be off. Then I have Saturday off, and go back on Sunday to finish my normal week.  I dislike holidays that fall on Saturdays.

Cloudy so far today, but I'm sure it will clear up just in time for baseball practice (at 2, today) so the humidity can go through the roof!   All -star game was rained out last night, so is rescheduled for tonight, but we can't go, as younger son has practice at 5:30.

Got a message on facebook from my daughter...she was in an "interdisciplinary flex" class, learning digital imaging, and the instructor gave them 5 minutes to "check their stuff".  Isn't it sweet that she took the time to say hi?  Of course, she texts and /or calls every day, too.

Had the first zuchinni from my plants last night with dinner...grilled.  Wonderful!   (Or would Yummy or delish be a better word? )

Mr Flame is off tomorrow, no real plans yet for the 4th, but we are mulling over a few options.

I inherited somebody's cold. :censored:  Sore throat, cough, chest congestion.  I'm off to find some pharmaceuticals.

Usual non-work related stuff today... car work, house work, paying bills.

Have been up and about since 6:30, already took two sets of drivebys, and finished a report. Have another one to get done, and turn in a relist on a foreclosure.

Hoping to get into the pool here in a bit.

Going to friends' houseboat up on Norris tomorrow (takes about 40 minutes to get there) early afternoon for a cookout and laying around in the lake. Going to try a new potato salad recipe I found....has sour cream and horseradish in it. And I'm making cucumbers and onions. They are not moored at a dock, they are moored in a cove, so we have to cart the stuff to the ski boat, then over to the houseboat...so we pick super easy stuff.

Maybe having people here on Saturday for pool party....it's supposed to thunderstorm Saturday and Sunday, so may just be laying around here relaxing. I'm kind of voting for the later....
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

I work Friday as a normal workday. I have Saturday off & get holiday pay for the day. So it will be like a six day paycheck instead of 5.

Sounds like a good weekend. Being on a lake sounds really nice, now that I live where there are no lakes.  :banghead:

I am home sick with the flu, my gut is killing me and I'm burning up.

We had thunderstorms for five minutes, now the sun is out!  :lmao:

I think I'm getting your cold Chris.

We are leaving tomorrow for Tulsa for the 4th. We come back Sunday then leave Monday for LA for another house hunting trip. We come back Wednesday night then have less than a week to get ready for the movers to come pack us up. K and our son are going to drive to CA with the dogs because apparently dogs can't fly after the ground temp reaches a certain degree. The girls and I will fly.

I recorded a show on the history channel about Benjamin Franklin and I'm watching it now. Pretty interesting.
