For more than 35 years he has diagnosed and treated more than 1,500 patients as a board-certified clinical psychiatrist and examined more than 2,700 civil and criminal cases as a board-certified forensic psychiatrist. He received his medical and psychiatric training at the University of Chicago.

Rossiter says the kind of liberalism being displayed by the two major candidates for the Democratic Party presidential nomination can only be understood as a psychological disorder.

As fun as it might seem how many so-called "studies" have declared conservatives to be timid, box-thinking sheep?

There is denial and wishful thinking, and there is common sense and reality.  Any "study" which hopes to paint conservatives as timid, box-thinking sheep can be disproved with common sense and reality.   Any "study" which hopes to disspell the notion that liberalism is a mental disorder can also be disproved with common sense and reality. 

Liberalism, when put into practice, is always a failure.  Conservatism, when put into practice, is always a success.  When these truths are considered by logical mind, it is impossible not to understand that to embrace and support liberalism is a mental illness.

I have no idea who this guy is, and what his qualifications are, but my first thoughts when reading this were, "what's he saying? is it credible?"

Since he's ostensibly a crackpot, one assumes that if he said the sky was overhead, primitives would disbelieve him.

By the way, even though WND describes The Liberal Mind: The Psychological Causes of Political Madness as being a new book, the book is actually from 2006. Classic sloppy reporting by WND.

Damn, I'm sorry i made the post now...got everyone all riled up. His methods may be questionable, I don't know. What I found interesting was some of the explanations of why liberals act the way they do. I was thinking about reading the book but since everone thinks he is a crackpot I know I'll read it now.... :-)

I don't know, I find liberals, specifically the outspoken liberal activists, to be child-like in their ideas and methods. Oh from declaring that you will move to Canada if a Repub wins the presidency to ideal notions of being able to talk things through with anihilists.

I didn't need to google anything up, those are just 45 years of observations.
