global warming skepticism panic attack
« on: January 16, 2009, 08:49:08 AM »
Now, this is hilarious.

http://newsbusters.org/blogs/p-j-gladnick/2009/01/16/global-warming-skepticism-panic-attack-huffington-post

One wishes one could have the nocturnally foul one's "take" on this.

Anyway, so the Huffies at the HuffingtonPost are worried because google "searches" for "global warming hoax" are on the sharp upswing.

Quote
Please pay no attention to the evidence right outside your windows! Despite the fact that we are experiencing the coldest weather in decades, Kevin Grandia blogging at the Huffington Post wants you to ignore this and start worrying about the growing trend of global warming skepticism. According to Grandia, questioning the holy theology of the Church of Global Warming is a seriously disturbing heresy. He even catalogued the increased levels of global warming skepticism by analyzing Google search stats in excruciating detail:

Our 2008 analysis of global warming misinformation finds that there was a very significant upswing in online activity.

This trend should be troubling to US policymakers and campaigners wanting to implement new greenhouse gas reduction strategies.

Here's the stats I've generated as evidence of my conclusions:

"Global Warming" hoax

A Google blog search for the term "global warming" hoax between January 1, 2008 and January 1, 2009 reports 49,719 page results. The same search for the previous year reports only 22,077 page results.

How about we all, as has been suggested elsewhere, do occasional google "searches" on "global warming hoax" to get those numbers up?

edited to correct "hox" to "hoax;" sorry for the inconvenience

The dissent is beginning to grow. If you search YouTube with the same search (Google) you'll get a great 9 part vid on the hoax that IS being foisted on us.

Even CNN isn't buying the garbage anymore.

Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”

Al Gore should be sued and prosecuted for global fraud.

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site

It's -7 outside with a windchill of -20... I could use some of that sweet, sweet Global Warming right now. Where's the VRWC Magic Weather Machine gonna get the bugs fixed out of it?

Yeah but haven't you heard? The drastic cold is a RESULT of global warming!  :whatever:
Let nothing trouble you,
Let nothing frighten you.
All things are passing;
God never changes.
Patience attains all that it strives for.
He who has God lacks nothing:
God alone suffices.

Is that the one from the BBC?  I was going to watch that one, but never got around to it.

The VRWC WCS is currently occupied.  We're still working on that blizzard for DC next Tuesday.  Sorry for the inconvenience.   :-)

A nice ice storm a day or two before the blizzard for DC would be sweet.  :-)

I would love for DC to wake up to three inches of ice on that morning (sorry, DixieBelle).

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle
